“Commonwealth Games 2014 sign”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 July 2014

Even if you are a Glasgow resident it is worth a visit this summer with the games sign being there as well as the large retail store.

Located just outside the merchant city this shows of Glasgow architecture brillianty and it is a lovely place to sit and take in the surrounding buildings.

It is easy to get to from both main train stations or walking if you are already in the city.

“Great starting point for Glasgow explorations - (Don't rent a car!)”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 July 2014

City Center George Square offers you best introduction to this ancient town. After touring the magnificent City Chambers board a City Sightseeing bus for a grand city tour, see the best of Glasgow’s Victorian building, legendary parks, old Glasgow Cathedral, busy Buchanan Street shopping and more - Glasgow is a walkers delight so explore the old town best on foot *** Save car rentals for touring Scotland, NOT wasting half a day finding a city parking spot. – Visit Central Railway Station and St Enoch’s Stations and/or Glasgow Tourist Office for free maps, valuable local information including where to stay advice. Glasgow’s past personages are memorialized in in George Square staues; a remarkable cenotaph pays homage to the memory of Scotland’s fallen soldiers…
Stop at Greggs Bakery, buy a tasty Hot Pie and beverage cross the street back to the Square, find a vacant bench seat and enjoy inexpensive Glasgow-style outdoor dining (you may have to chase pesky pigeons away) In no time some Glaswegian may strike up a conversation – after all Glasgow IS Europe’s friendliest town.

“Relaxing time”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 July 2014 via mobile

After walk around the Buchanan Street we went to this place for relaxing. There are some chairs for relax. Kids can play with birds and feeding them. But bring your own bread or corn. The great architecture of City Chambers also make us enjoy sitting there.

“Getting around Glasgow”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 July 2014

George Square was just part of the total tour of Glasgow arranged through Trafalgar for our group. Glasgow itself was an amazing city with too little time to really explore as we would have liked.

“Preparations for the Commonwealth Games mean that the square didn't look its best”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 June 2014 via mobile

The square didn't look at its best on our visit as it was being prepped for the Commonwealth Games. I'm sure when all the work is done it will look great. Lots to see around the square.
