Our sat nav struggled to find the place and there were no signs for the car park. Put Belgrave Lane into your sat nav rather than the postcode! The hotel car park is BEHIND the hotel and the first one on the right hand side on Belgrave Lane if arriving from Oakfield avenue (or the last one on Belgrave Lane if approaching from South Park avenue!).

Check in was fast and the staff were friendly and inviting.

Our rooms were downstairs, they were basic but representative of a budget hotel. The shower didnt have a great deal of pressure but there was plenty of hot water. Everything seemed to work in the room.

Breakfast was a cooked option and/or cereals. Everything was 'value' standard but well cooked and plentiful.

Location was great for our needs.

Overall, this is a budget hotel that provides a value option for a stay in the West End of Glasgow. If that is what you require then consider staying here.

We were very happy with the service which we received at short notice and the staff were very pleasant indeed. Breakfast was perfect and we actually stayed another night. We received a cot for our baby on request which we were delighted about.
thank you

Stayed at the Belgrave for 3 nights recently when in Glasgow for a long weekend.

The location is perfect for exploring Glasgow's wonderful West End area and the city centre is only a few miles away; easily accessible by car / metro / bus.

Parking is available in the courtyard area to the rear of the hotel.

Margaret the host is lovely and works incredibly hard doing pretty much EVERYTHING herself.

However, we could only give a 4/5 (at best) rating as the property really does need some TLC; cracked bathroom tiles, very basic furniture, etc.

A great location & a bargain price ... just don't expect 5* furnishings.

Thank you for your comments left, We are glad you enjoyed your stay. We are pleased to say we have had a major refurbishment of the hotel since your visit, the rooms are all freshly painted with new carpets fitted. Bathrooms have also had a gentle overhaul. We now have a fantastic new cook "Mel" who's breakfasts seem to be going down a treat with the guests.
We look forward to seeing you next time you are in Glasgow.

This is an inexpensive small Georgian Guest House with a friendly host. At the price I can have few complaints. Its situated in the fashionable Great Western Road in the west end of Glasgow.
Its near most attractions with good transport links into the city center.
The room I had although small was warm and comfortable with all the facilities you would expect.
The bathroom, had it been finished to the same quality as the materials and design could easily have graced an establishment costing many multiples;it was a bit rough around the edges: 'Roger the Bodgers' handywork.? But again for the price was perfectly acceptable as it was very clean and did what it was meant to do. Powerful warm shower.
Breakfast was a buffet affair and was very enjoyable.
Only minus for me was the lack of facilities to accept credit/debit cards, but maybe that was a temporary situation. Best to check if you intend to pay by this method.

Very good budget hotel loved it!

Hi Robbie,
Thank you for leaving such positive comments about the Belgrave.
We have recently refurbished our rooms but are pleased to say we have managed to retain most of our original features maintaining the comfortable and traditional decor of the building.
I am sorry to hear you did not have the option to pay by credit card at the end of your stay. We do offer this service and on checking the dates I can confirm that we were upgrading our telephone and free wifi system at the time of your stay and this placed some restrictions on our card terminal.
We look forward to seeing you again next time you are in Glasgow and can guarantee full service has been resumed and our card terminal is fully operational.
Kind Regards

One of the nicest things about this hotel is the host - Margaret. A very friendly, helpful and informative person. Stayed there for just over a week and the room was comfortable enough for my needs. Great choice for breakfast. Located near the main road but not directly on it i felt safe .Excellent transport links.
However the hotel does need some structural maintenance and updating. Other than that I had a pleasant stay.
