I went in for lunch after hearing wonderful things about their food, cocktails, service etc...
We sat down and were given menus. It seemed to take an age for everything: Initial service drinks - over 20 mins before we actually gave our food order and then it was 43 minutes to have it delivered to our table.
All in all, I could recommend this place for a quick lunch.
The food itself was nice. Mac cheese was tasty and serviced in a mini frying pan.
Smoked chicken was tasty but lacking additional sustenance on the plate.
Hand cut chip were average. under seasoned and not inspiring as they should have been triple cooked as advertised.
The £16 smoke platter plate was the most disappointing as it represented anti-value. Sparce but with some great Smokey flavours.
The beef brisket was chewy. Seemed over cooked & or microwaved but flavour was nice.
The pork belly was ok but skin was tough and chewy and a lot of the fat hadn't been rendered so it made it a but unpleasant. It came with kimchi slaw and pickled cucumber ribbons. The Kimchi was dry and vegetal in taste. The classic hint of spice and moisture was not there - maybe the chef forgot and just gave me grated veg?
The place was clean and staff were pleasant but nothing you wouldn't normally expect.
I think the kitchen needs to work on its timings and communication with front of house as the food didn't live up to the unreasonable length of time we had to wait.
