I have been going to gigs for over thirty years bit somehow never before made it to King Tuts. I had heard so much about it and was looking forward to my attendance there for an Amplifier gig.
The downstairs bar is nice, good service etc.
The venue itself is...well small, awkward, has a low stage and is...a bit rubbish. I'd say there were maybe a hundred plus at this gig which was fine, I cannot imagine how bad and uncomfortable it would be sold out and full of half wits.
The sound was good, that may have been down to the band but overall for a club that us so highly rated, it's not nearly the best in Glasgow.

Went to see a band here recently with friends and had some food in the bar downstairs beforehand. Very relaxed atmosphere and the staff were very helpful and friendly. Food was delicious, good portions, well presented and very reasonably priced. Upstairs for the gig later (look out for the interesting timeline of bands that have played there over the years as you go up) and although the room is a slightly odd shape, if you get there in good time you can bag yourself a perfect view of the stage. A great night and a great after-party too!!

I have had cause to visit King Tut's twice in the past month, never having been before. First time we just attended a gig as we didn't know that they did food. But when attending another gig we thought we would eat there.Their fish and chips were amazing, a good hearty portion served with a little portion of mushy peas and some very delicious tartar sauce. Very good value too at £26 for 2 meals and a lovely bottle of wine. As for the venue, small and intimate, very good acoustics and the staff are all lovely, happy people. Hope I will have more occasions to visit this great place.

Just brilliant venue. Great staff, amazing sound engineers and fantastic acts. Good beer is just the icing on the cake.

Been going to king tut's over 10 years when in Glasgow for gigs and it is one of the best. If you like live music it is a must when in the city.
