“Gotta try the pizza here”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 March 2014

A few of us went here to check it out. We were just popping in for some drinks but we ended up spending the full day and night here. The idea was we would have lunch here. I got the pizza and OH MY GOD. It was the best pizza I have ever tasted (and I have had a lot of pizzas in my time). The rest had a mix between hot dogs and burgers and pulled pork sandwiches. I tried one of the hot dogs which had the sausage, bacon, mince meet, pulled pork, jalapeños and some kind of amazing cheesy mustard sauce. The drinks were great too. Cool cocktails and cheap Budweiser. We ended up staying for a few rounds but then a band came on that were brilliant so we stated. Once we started floating about we realised there was live music up and downstairs so that was us for the night. Try their food!

“first and last time!!”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 March 2014 via mobile

visited here on a voucher deal for afternoon tea and cocktails. it was very basic, i could swear the cakes were bought from a shop as i seen one of the waiters walk in with a tesco bag, no scones either (strange for an afternoon tea)! the cocktails were nice, however, we were not offered any tea as promised on voucher! it also took wait staff 20 mins to take our drinks order! will not be returning to this place!

“Fabulous afternoon”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 March 2014

Myself and three friends had also purchased the afternoon tea deal through Wowcher - we bought two vouchers, so that all four of us could enjoy it. The barman was welcoming and chatty and our first lot of cocktails looked and tasted fantastic. We were served two large plates of sandwiches with a great selection of fillings, which were really tasty and the cakes looked amazing - it included heart shaped scones, lemon drizzle cake and more, with fresh strawberries and grapes. The second round of cocktails were just as good as the first, and well presented. We were at a table near to the door and the bar, and a group of men (a birthday or stag do) were getting a little rowdy so the barman - without prompting - came over and kindly moved us to a much quieter table around the corner, well away from said men and door! When we ordered a bottle of prosecco, there wasn't one chilled but they quickly sorted it out for us and even came to our table to pop fresh strawberries into our glasses. All in, we had a great afternoon. The drinks and the food were lovely and the staff attentive. Nice atmosphere too (once we were away from the noisy group!). Will definitely be back.

“Never again”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 March 2014

Me and 3 others went here as we had booked an afternoon tea with cocktails via wowcher. After reading about the deal it looked great £14 for 2 people for afternoon tea and 2 cocktails and warming pot of tea. With selection on sandwiches, cream scones and little fancies. However it was so different. We were asked what sandwiches we would like and we were happy with tuna mayo chicken mayo and cheese and tomato but we were served tuna mayo chicken, egg mayo and cheese savoury. The cakes were all lumped in a heap on a plate. There were no fancies no cream scones it looked like left overs. We also had to ask for our tea as it was not served to us with the cakes and sandwiches. The tea came in 4 mugs with tea bag left in instead of 2 teapots as we had ordered 2wowchers between 2. There was no atmosphere at all. Although the deal is less than half price i would have been fuming if i had paid 30 for the 2. Not advertised correctly. Will never go back. Also each cocktail was served different kept changing from tumbler to wine glass to cocktail glass although it was same order. Really unhappy

“Fab Afternoon Tea with Cocktails!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 March 2014

Like the previous reviewer, I was also worried about the quality we could expect after reading earlier reviews of this place, but was very pleasantly surprised!

I had bought a voucher for afternoon tea for two which included two cocktails each. My friend can't eat egg or mayonnaise & after explaining this to the waiter he ensured that none of the sandwiches contained either of these which was great. He was pleasant & helpful and didn't make her feel awkward about requesting a change to the usual selection. The cocktails were good, especially the French Martinis, which we both enjoyed. We had plenty of sandwiches which had obviously been freshly made, along with a selection of cakes, some grapes & strawberries. It was plenty of food for a lunch for 2 and we felt comfortable to sit & chat, not like we were being hurried away like you do in some places. Overall, it was great, and I will definitely go back!
