We stayed at the ivory as we were attending a party in the area, the first thing I would say about it is that it is NOT a hotel, more a bar/restaurant with a few rooms upstairs. The only positive of the ivory is the staff who were pleasant and friendly, not their fault that the place needs a bit of investment and TLC!
The bed in the room we stayed in was tiny, really only suitable for one person, the room itself was a tad grubby and lacked a lot of very basic items you would expect to find in any budget accommodation, no glasses in the bathroom, no shampoo, hair dryer had to be requested from reception, only one lamp for one side of the bed, only three flat pillows and an old cushion on the bed, cheap feeling shower curtain and the bedroom curtain was ripped and torn in places. Wifi available but connection was patchy at best.
The bar and restaurant looked nice although we didn't eat here, they advertise cocktails which they cannot make due to not having a blender??
The fire alarm went off at 8am in the morning on our last day and the entire hotel had to be evacuated due to someone boiling a kettle dry in another bedroom?
While the hotel is certainly priced for what it is I would not recommend staying here, it is too far away from the city centre and any savings made on accommodation are soon cancelled out by what you would pay for taxis in and out of town.
