“fantastic stay....22 guests all said the same”
Reviewed 9 September 2013

booked 6 apartments for an overnight stay for 22 people....quite a responsibility so was worried! however these apartments were fantastic....clean, spacious, comfortable, central, everyone of my party agreed...not one moan or complaint...thats pretty good going....staff were great and really helpful...letting us leave our luggage....phoning taxis...we were just gutted we couldnt stay over longer....have stayed in other apartments in glasgow but these would definitely be my first choice in future.....

Room Tip: we were on the second floor room 2.2, 2.3, 2.4......we all slept good in these rooms...no problem wi...

The location of these apartments are great, very central and just around the corner from the Arches if you are intending on going to any gigs.

However, value for money wise, you are definitely better off in a hotel. Although the apartment was fairly modern, it was still fairly basic. The bed (twins pushed together) was absolutely awful. The bedding was something you'd expect from a cheap hotel too. You can also hear everything going on outside - not great when there is no aircon and the apartment is stiffling - meaning windows had to be left open.

You are limited to having 2 guests visit the apartment who must sign in when they arrive. Failure to do so apparently incurs a fine. There is a list of rules and regulations as you go in... You also have to check-out before 10am which I personally find ridiculous.

Overall, bad value for money. There is definitely better elsewhere in Glasgow.

This apartment is very central just a couple of minutes walk from the station and directly opposite the enterprise car pick up so good for travelers. Also many buses nearby which is good but also bad as the noise outside is excruciating. Luckily apartments have triple glazing which does dull 90% of noise but apartment very hot so need to open window so cannot hear each other speak or TV. I mean it is loud. Would not like to be in apartment when temperature was higher than 20. Also very open on street. We rearranged furniture so as not to feel we were on offer in amsterdam. Needs blinds or scrim or some alternative. Also view only of multi story car-park..not very nice.

Pros; Ok kitchen, very clean, few basics provided e.g. packets of sugar and cheap tea. Good washer. Good shower...just remember to warm water for 10 minutes before shower. Many restaurants within ten minute walk.
Cons; many missing basics for cooking - no pot large enough to cook pasta for dinner and one tiny frypan.
Very cheap bedding. Impossible pillows falling apart within casing. Thin sheets. Acrylic everything. Had to take doona out of cover not to get electric sparks in bed.
Lounge furniture cheap and uncomfortable - has work to do which is why we took apartment but so hard to sit in chairs for more than hour. Lounge coffee table about to fall down.
Dining Table so flimsy that all legs collapsed when chair touched leg - a 40 kilo slab on glass fell on foot and almost took out my toe and cracked my iphone i realised today. Informed service staff and she forensically inspected table and asked what i had been doing and informed me nothing could be done as it was a Sunday. Not once did she ask if i was OK or offer any commiserations. Also told me several times she could not move table as too heavy for her. Other staff arrived Monday to remove table and still no inquiry.

Other gripe: told on arrival late Sunday there was a 3.5% surcharge for using credit card as a non-UK person. Reception lady told me this was the banks idea. Challenged her that this had not been true anywhere in Glasgow or Northern Ireland and was instead policy of her company not the bank and she replied "that is what we are told to say". I pressed on and suggested that she never paid a surcharge when paying with credit anywhere did she.and did she not think this was at odds with her speech....."i don't own a credit card".. " it is what we are told to tell you". I was also pointed to web site many times and told to take it up with management. I find this kind of gouging greedy and the lack of any response as a human very annoying. even one empathic "fees are crap aren't they" would have been good.

Room Tip: Room 4 is wider and lighter than some others but you do hear slight noise from lift working in bedro...

Stayed in these apartments several times now and would definitely recommend!

Plus points: large open apartments, good facilities e.g dishwasher, washing machine, excellent location in city centre, all washing liquid/soap provided.

Bad points: reception not covered 24 hours so cannot always ask for help/assistance if needed, apartments not always 100% clean.

Despite the few negatives, always had a great stay at central apartments. Would recommend over a hotel for stays with friends as everyone is in the same space where there is more than enough room for getting ready, having drinks etc. Also save money as yoy can buy food and cook in the apartment.

Room Tip: Double rooms have ensuites so run for the double!

Just back after a 3 night stay. The apartment was clean, comfortable and in a great location. It was very warm over the weekend so a fan would have been handy but it did not ruin our stay. Would definately use this place again.

We stayed here for only one night which was fortunate as it doesn't come with a recommendation from us. The entrance to the apartments is very cramped and there are 11 narrow steps and no lift so we had to carry heavy suitcases up stairs. Although the apartment was spacious we did not like the fact the dish washing up cloths etc had already seen a lot of use. Given the price of the apartment you think they could afford a new scourer per room.
Our view was of a multi-storey car park and the street below very noisy. What really annoyed us was that the TV was stuck on Sky and despite getting help from a member of staff we could not get the TV to work. A hotel next time for us.

These apartments are in a great location whatever the reason for your tip to Glasgow. We were going to Hamden by train and Central Station was about 200 metres away, which is good not having too far to walk late at night. It would also be walkable if the event was at the SECC. Shops very close too. There were 3 of us staying so we had a 2 bedroom twin apartment, and to our surprise when we got there, besides a full bathroom the other bedroom had an en suite shower room, Great. All the facilities were clean and the whole apartment spacious. It was noisy, but when the window was closed it was much better. Although they say toiletries are provided, this consists of a few small bars of soap, not the usual shower gel, shampoo etc, but I had taken my own anyway. There is also a reasonably good hair dryer, ironing board and iron.
