“Excellent, but beware - no windows!”
Reviewed 29 June 2014

As most previous reviewers have noted, a brand new hotel, clean comfortable, with fantastic staff and a handy location just across the river from the SECC and Hydro - as mentioned, it could give a few 4* hotels a run for their money. One major gripe from my part, however, the fact that your room has no windows - the building is hermetically sealed (presumably to make it more energy efficient) so those of you who like a bit of fresh air when you sleep, or to cool down the room before you go to bed, will be disappointed.

We stayed in this new hotel as it was ideally situated for our visit to the Hydro to see Robbie Williams. The walkway bridge is brilliant, a five minute stroll with no worries about parking or queues after the gig. Everything was beautiful in the room, clean and fresh linen and a bathroom which sparkled. We ate in Thyme restaurant which was lovely, nice choices on the menu with something for all tastes. Service was attentive and very friendly especially Douglas - nothing was too much trouble. Would highly recommend this Premier Inn and would definitely stay again if we revisit Glasgow. Keep up the great service Pacific Quay, these great reviews are well deserved.

This Premier Inn has been open for four weeks and I've been staying there on business for two and a half weeks. I have to agree with others that the thing that has made my long stay as enjoyable as long business trips can be is the staff. They are all incredibly friendly and helpful and can't do enough for you.

The hotel has a superb location directly opposite the SECC and Hydro. If you can, ask for a riverside room - the view is as spectacular at night as it is during the day. The riverside terrace is also good for having an evening drink or two.

The rooms are spacious and the beds and bathrooms are great and obviously very clean and tidy. The TVs are also good, although it was painful watching England's World Cup matches in HD!

The bar is pretty good and reasonably priced and, although the buffet breakfasts and evening meals were initially a bit patchy - I put that down to the hotel being new - the meals have become consistently good.

I think the only gripe I have (and it is a minor one) is not with this hotel, but with Premier Inn in general. Why, in 2014, do you still insist on charging £3/day for WiFi? It just seems a bit penny pinching and mean.

All in all, this has to be one of the best city hotels in Glasgow and, as I look out of the Premier Inn at the more expensive Crowne Plaza across the river, I can't help but think I've got the better of the two hotels. A credit to the staff.

first class visit to this newly opened hotel. It is directly across the river from the Crowne Plaza where we were attending an event and the footbridge is right outside. Staff really helpful and friendly. Very good breakfast in nice restraunt. Would certainly stay again.

Don't be put off by the lego type exterior of this hotel as once inside the welcome from the reception staff is typically friendly and efficient. The hotel is ideally placed if you are going to the SECC or the Hydro to see a gig as it's only a walk over the pedestrian bridge from the complex and nearby train station. Hotel is only recently opened (June 2014) so the room was in excellent condition and the bed up to the usual high standard from Premier Inn. Sits on the bank of the Clyde and there is a pleasant small terrace to enjoy a late drink overlooking the river. Breakfast was good value if suffering from the usual hotel style breakfast buffet problems of sitting under heat lamps which dry out and solidify eggs etc. Would very definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: rooms overlooking the river are very plesant

Fabulous stay at the Premier Inn, Pacific Quay. The décor, furniture and floorings are all very nice, worthy of a 4* hotel and at a great price. Excellent location for visiting Glasgow SECC and the Hydro.
