Premier Inn Glasgow Pacific Quay (SECC) Hotel

I have stayed in quite a few hotels in Glasgow due to having family all around the city and being a Rangers supporter. Mostly I stay at the Travelodge on the Paisley Road mainly due to it being cheap, it is around the corner from my grandfather's house and is walk-able distance to Ibrox. I am certain I won't be staying there again as this brand new Premier Inn is perfect.

The hotel is immaculate, beds guarantee a good night sleep and the staff are great. We arrived on a Saturday for a one night stay for the Rugby Sevens and the hotel as you may imagine was extremely busy with people checking in and out. On our arrival there was quite a few people waiting to be seen to check in/out but Michelle (who was on her own) did not seem flustered at all and dealt with everyone in a very welcoming fashion and continually apologised for the wait which wasn't too long. She is certainly a great asset to the hotel as many people have praised her in their reviews and from experience it is no surprise to why she is so highly regarded.

For any Rangers fans or anyone attending a game at Ibrox and needing a place to stay this hotel I would strongly recommend. The stadium is in viewing distance and is only a 10-15 minute walk at most. The location is also good for families with the Science Centre and Imax Cinema only a couple of hundred metres away next to the BBC Scotland building.

The only issue I have with this hotel is that there isn't a shop close by so all there is for food and drink is the restaurant or the vending machines. However, we never ate in the restaurant so i couldn't comment on the quality of food but i'm sure it will be to a reasonable if not good standard. Also the price for one nights stay was a little expensive but that was expected with it being a Saturday night and during the Commonwealth Games. Although I have to admit it was money well spent for a top quality hotel.

Excellent facility and service, right next to the science centre. 15 minute walk to the SECC as the bells bridge was closed which was the only negative point of our stay. The hotel has self check in and room card activated lifts, sealed windows with air-conditioned rooms which all makes for a safe pleasant stay. Comfy beds as usual and great value breakfast with kids eating free. We have stayed in Premier Inns before and this was up there with the best. The price was a bit high for a budget hotel as we are only usually £29-£59 but may have been with Commonwealth Games being on, however was still cheaper than anything else nearby! Would definitely go back

Was recently staying in Glasgow for a sporting event and to see relatives. Traveled with my rather immobile mother. Stayed in this excellent hotel. Great location- very pretty vibrant new buildings in the area.

Hotel staff were extremely helpful and accommodating caring for my mother when I was out for the evening.

Price somewhat higher than usual- presumably due to the Commonwealth Games but overall an excellent stay for a budget hotel chain.

Stayed overnight for Commonwealth Games. New hotel right on banks of river overlooking the SSE Hydro and the SECC. Good restaurant within hotel. Very good service in restaurant and reception. Promenade runs along front of hotel. Great for evening stroll or early morning run. Free Parking

Great Location, Great Hotel, Really Great Staff
Stayed here for the Commonwealth Games and although we paid a premium rate for the room on the dates we were there it is impossible to find fault. Even when we were asked to park elsewhere due to road closures for the marathon (which was incorrect info from the organisers) a refund for the cost of the alternative car park was offered almost straight away.
Considering this hotel has not been open very long the staff have certainly been thrown in at the deep end with the Games taking place all around the hotel. I can't find fault with any of them and even though the bar and restaurant was packed throughout our stay the service was still very good

Would highly recommend and would be more than happy to stay again

Lovely new hotel right across the water from the SECC and next door to BBC Scotland. Very large free car park, roomy reception area and large lifts to floors. Good use made of the new 40 inch flat screen tv's. You can't go wrong with Premier inn restaurants and food and this one was no different. Plenty of space in our family room though little wardrobe space. Only downside was the air con only worked when bathroom light left on, internet log in page is very poor and charged me 4 times. As we stayed for the Games for 3 nights all the prices have been hiked up but this is same with all accommodation in the area and puts me off visiting again and also stopped us spending money in the hotel ( apart from the wifi fiasco) overall very good location just off motorway and close to Cessnock subway station
