If I were in my 20's looking for a cheap hostel to stay while getting drunk in Glasgow then I wouldn't mind that it looked half finished and was pretty dirty throughout. However, as I wasn't then I really didn't like the fact that I had to wash out the mugs in the room before I could make a cup of tea, remove the waterproof ("piss-proof") sheet from the bed and then choose to either boil for the evening in a shabby double room (it's only redeeming feature being the decent enough shower) or open the window and listen to the motorway traffic. Being forced to pay £3 to use my debit card to pay was also incredibly frustrating, this equated to 6% of the total room cost, which I think is totalling unacceptable. As is being charged £4 for breakfast that consisted of cheap yoghurt, cheap tea, cheap pain au chocolate and a Variety packet of Coco Pops. Not the worst hostel I've stayed but not far off.
