Description: Located in the heart of Glasgow’s Merchant City, Hutchesons City Grill is vibrant reincarnation of one of Scotland’s most impressive architectural icons. Spread over three floors, Hutchesons consists of The 158 Club Lounge; a boutique style bar that specialises in Champagne and cocktails. The showpiece of the venue is the City Grill, a bustling first floor restaurant that sports a menu of fine Scotch beef and Scottish seafood. The restaurant is set in a room like no other, a double height marvel with one of the most impressive ceilings you will ever encounter. Topping it all off, quite literally as it’s found on the third floor, is the Glenfarclas Private Dining Room, the last word in exclusivity and seclusion; guests have their own dedicated server, private bathroom and will enjoy a unique experience fit for any occasion.

We went here for the brunch menu as we wanted to do something a little different . It is an idyllic setting , and one of great historic splendour in the heart of the city . The brunch menu is fantastic . Loads of amazing choices - I opted for the French toast that was made from brioche and had peanut butter, maple syrup , bacon and a compote - just fab. A lovely change from just going for lunch . The portions weren’t the biggest but it’s the whole ambience etc .

Good pancakes and associated sides and teas with good choice. Lovely atmosphere too and perfect for a nice lunch or afternoon tea. Only downside is the waiter we had didn’t really speak much English so was slightly problematic ordering but was soon resolved.

Three of us had an lunch in the beautiful upstairs dining room. Very friendly and professional staff throughout. My pals had two courses from the set menu which looked delicious. I wasn't very hungry so had just a dish from the brunch menu - of smoked salmon and scrambled eggs. Great care had been taken with its unusual presentation. There were quite a few other diners there, but the restaurant exuded calm and contentment.
Highly recommended.
