This is a stylish restaurant serving high quality Thai cuisine at fairly steep prices. At the moment there is a half price main course deal on offer before 7pm, which represents good value, although the normal price for most dishes is around the £12 mark, and £15 or £16 for seafood. The dishes are always beautifully cooked and presented, and seem to have been prepared in an authentic manner. We have tried many different dishes over ten or twelve visits and have never been disappointed.
The surroundings are lovely, especially if the fountain is switched on, although the atmosphere in the restaurant can sometimes be somewhat formal and cold. The waiting staff do tend to hover when the restaurant is not busy, and I am not really a fan of having my wine glass topped up immediately I have drained it. (I’ll pour my next glass when I’m ready to drink it, thank you, that way it stays cold in the ice bucket!)
Our favourite dish is the mixed starter for two, as it gives you and your partner the chance to sample six or seven different starters while still leaving room for the main course. Again, not cheap, though, at £18! Note that in the menu, some dishes are marked with a chilli symbol to warn you that they are hot and spicy. Take heed! The spicy dishes are seriously tongue-burning!
Overall, though, a nice place for a romantic meal, and the best place in Glasgow to sample authentic Thai cuisine.

Nice food, staff very efficient and couldn't do more for you. Although quite pricey and was disapointed to find that the pre theatre only applies to main courses not starters. Very pricey, so don't tend to visit very often.

Had an enjoyable meal at Thai Fountain. Food was good, well prepared and presented and the service was excellent. We ate early (6:30) as we were going to a concert and had a nice surprise at main courses being half price! That said I thought the main course prices were at bit steep at on average £12 for chicken dishes plus cost of rice/noodles.

The Thai fountain consistently serves up good Thai cuisine in pleasant surroundings with excellent service. The menu is varied and the fish dishes are well worth trying. The staff are always friendly and helpful. I have been several times over the past ten years and have never had a bad experience

Food is excellent and the staff are very attentive. As soon as they see you reaching for more rice form your bowl, they're over to you and insisting that they do it. There's always a smile on their face. The food is good, although I agree with some reviewers...some dishes could a bit more spicy. However, I think you can ask for extra spice in it if you want, although I'm not sure. Price wise, it's great. For what you get, it's very competitively priced.

Drawbacks? Parking near it seems to be a bit of a hit or a miss. If you go at the right time and are lucky, you'll get a space. Not sure if there are parking restrictions during the day, as I've only ever been at night.
It might be to add to the ambiance of the place, but it is quite dark inside. It's not so dark that you can't see in front of your face, just somewhat subdued lighting.
This lighting however may be to hide the place, in the sense that it appears to be somewhat "dated", in my opinion. Perhaps this is to add to the authenticity of the place, but it just looks like it could do with a freshen up to make it a bit brighter. Again, this is just my opinion and perhaps this all adds to the authenticity of the place and teh general atmosphere they are attempting to create.

However, all-in-all, an excellent place to eat. Good food choice. Good staff. Good experience.

Have done and will continue to go back.
