“Premier dining a joy and well worth the price”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 June 2015

We joined this tour from Whitehaven to Scarborough at Carlisle and had booked Premier Dining @ £209 a head, as a special treat.

Superb food: breakfast - morning coffee on journey out and on the return a 4 course dinner + coffee - huge portions available, all served at seat by very friendly attentive staff.

Topped off by a very reasonably priced wine list (a very good NV champagne @ just £36, was a bargain)

MK2 air-conditioned first class stock very cosy indeed. Only criticism for West Coast Railways is the filthy, badly stained table lamp shades, which so spoils the delightful ambience of the coaches for the sake of just a few quid per table - so do please replace them guys.

“Rannoch to Mallaig”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 June 2015 via mobile

A fantastic train ride from Rannoch Moor to Mallaig via Fort William.

Stunning views throughout the journey.

On board staff very welcoming.

Would recommend taking Steam Train from Fort William to Mallaig.

Steam Train very popular so would need to book in advance.

We spent a fantastic day travelling 'First Class with Premiere Dining' from Carlisle to Fort William and back, in style and comfort. We passed through some the wildest and spectacular countryside in Britain, the wildlife were completely unphased by the train! The service was excellent and the food delicious. Thank you West Coast Railways, a truly memorable day.

Travelled from Grimsby to Llandudno yesterday. Stewards were helpful and a buffet car was available for standard passengers with 3 friendly assistants. Two of the buffet staff provided a standard class with an at seat regular trolley service bright and friendly even with the early start and late finish. Trolley was well stocked and reasonably priced for the service given, but last time had the option for a cappuccino or latte but this time didn't so maybe this can be arranged for next time as I think it adds a bit of upper class to the hot drink selection. Our arrival at Llandudno was welcomed with gorgeous sunshine and with 4 hours to our own expence we easily explored its wide range of shops and seaside attractions. Will definatly travel with West coast again. Please pass on my comments to the buffet crew

“Compass by West Coast Railways”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 March 2015

We travelled on the Jacobite last year with West Coast Railways and we had a fabulous time, with excellent service. We have now booked to go on The Salopian Express with Compass Rail by West Coast on the 28th March and cannot wait!! Booked the tickets online and received immediate confirmation, West Coast have always been great! It's steam hauled too which we are so looking forward to. We will let you know our verdict on the trip but with West Coast involved, I am sure it will be great. Would be great to have a Black 5 or a K1 :)
