We spent 2 nights in Cairn Lochan with our 2 poochies at Pine Bank Chalets. The chalet was exactly as it is described on the website: it was immaculately clean and everything we needed was provided. The receptionist was friendly and helpful- we didnt know how to work the heater and it was sorted in no time. Stunning view of the river right in front of our chalet, it was such a treat to wake up in the morning. The location was great for us (we travelled by train), it was literally 10 minutes walk from shops and station, but once you are there, you are in the woods! Our chalet had 2 twin rooms and the beds were sooooo comfy, my fiance didn't want to get out of it in the morning! There are also extra blankets available if you are feeling the cold. It was a great starting point for different short and long walks and it was so peaceful and quiet at night.

On the day of our departure, we met the managers Simon and Tanja. They were very friendly and helpful, and we ended up chatting for ages. We would highly recommend Pine Bank Chalets, especially for people with dogs and who travel by public transport - it is the perfect place to stay when exploring Aviemore and the surrounding area. We will definitely go back and cant wait!

Just spent 4 nights at Pine Bank Chalets Aviemore. We stayed in Fintry which is a two bed roomed cabin. The cabin was spotless and had a well equipped kitchen complete with dishwasher. Fintry has a wood burning stove which was lovely and so warm we seldom used it due to the mild weather.
The beds in Fintry are also very comfortable and the sheets and downie covers were pristine. I would recommend the chalets as we loved the close situation to the town, bar and restaurants. Please also do not be put off by the trains, the noise was minimal and we were rarely aware of the trains passing by.
We were part of a group so we had 4 chalets between us all. We all enjoyed being in Aviemore and staying at Pine Bank.

Room Tip: Please be aware there is no pool or room service despite the above score which I could not amend.

We stayed for 2 nights at the Craegmhor chalet, nice and clean with everything we needed, my only issue was the stains on the brown sofas, a throw over would have solved this as it was very off putting as we didn't know what the stains were!!! The rest of the place was immaculate and nice and cosy.
The girl on reception wasn't very friendly and could gave tried smiling, as they say first impressions count, reception was closed when we left, but a nice young guy took the key and wished us a safe journey, I would go back to Pine bank as really near Rothiemurchas, which we love, an enjoyable break with nice accommodation, but get the stains on the sofa cleaned as it's not a good look..

Hi, many thanks for taking the time to write a review, we're delighted that you enjoyed your stay with us at Pine Bank Chalets and do hope to see you again. We are very lucky to be located where we are, as you say just a short walk into town but also up to the Rothiemurchus estate for all manner of walks and activities.

With regards the sofa, we apologise for this - the stain is in fact where the sofa has been accidentally bleached so we are unable to remove the stain. We will be replacing the sofa as soon as we can get a replacement and apologise for the way that it currently looks.

Many thanks

My husband and I spent a weekend at PBC in the Braeriach chalet, and we were not disappointed. On arrival at the chalet we excitedly opened the door, and exactly as described on the website was a beautiful chalet, perfect for a weekend getaway. Chalet was a bit chilly on arrival (but it was a snowy weekend) but by the time we'd returned from dinner at the excellent Ben Macdui's Inn it was cosy and warm. And that was before we lit the log burner - which was an amazing touch in the chalet for a really homely feel. Kitchen had been recently refurbished, and was extremely well equipped - all the utensils and pots and pans you could ever need for a short break.
Next day we needed to contact reception for a log refill - closed on a Saturday, but a call to owners was answered quickly and we were soon stocked up ready for another cosy night in.
Bed was supremely comfortable - both hubby and I slept exceptionally well.
The only small down side was the bathroom - it seemed to be particularly cold compared to the rest of the chalet, but this was easily dealt with by leaving the door ajar to help distribute the heat from the stove!
Hubby and I are already checking the schedules to see when we can make a return trip - we will be back!

Room Tip: Braeriach was perfect for a couples break, and the log burner is fantastic.

Spent a long weekend at PBC in one of their superior chalets, Bynack.
Very comfortable log cabin, warm and cosy. Lovely to come back to after a day's skiing up on Cairngorm.Kitchen is good and well equipped. Classy bathroom, good shower and very comfortable beds.No Wifi though, and that is a drawback these days.
Bear in mind that the chalets are very close to the railway line and you will hear the trains as they rumble by. Not a problem for us as the trains are veri infrequent and very slow at that point, and it is not intrusive at all. Nothing late at night, either.
The location is great, an easy walk into Aviemore for all the shops and restaurants and just a turn off the ski road up to the mountain. Even better, it is just 100 metres away from the Old Bridge Inn with great food and drink.
This is the second time we've stayed at PBC and we will come back.
A couple of minor points though. If the chalets are full , parking can be tight on the site which might be an issue.
We were also surprised at the lack of a personal welcome. We were late(ish) and the key was left for us in an envelope by reception, which was fine. But a quick courtesy call in the morning would have been welcome just to check everything was OK. A minor point, I know, but its the personal touches that grow brand loyalty and leads to return visits that build the business.

Last minute booking at Pine Bank Chalets. Quaint Chalet which was nice and cosy. We had a two bedroom Chalet just for the two of us. It was nice and warm and a great place to relax after a days skiing. Nice and close to the Old Bridge Inn for a couple of beers. Would def stay here again. Thanks for a great holiday!

We went to Pinebanks for New Year and had a lovely break. We were staying in one of their newly decorated chalets which was lovely. It was nicely decorated, comfortable, clean and warm! It has a fab log burner! The location is very convenient for Aviemore and the skiing. All in all a great trip (apart from the windy weather which inhibited the skiing somewhat). Nikki Burden
