“Excellent staff, great Breakfast!”
Reviewed 5 August 2014

Stayed for one night 2nd August 2014, greeted by Paulina, who was very friendly and informative. We found the room clean and pleasant with all you would expect of a room. En suite was spacious, clean and with a good shower.

The breakfast was great, my brother in law particularly liked the Haggis in the Full Breakfast.
It was a good portion and very tasty especially after a night out on the town!

Despite already being welcoming and helpful, the staff here go the extra mile. Having stupidly forgotten to take my Ipad out of the drawer in the room on checkout and then remembering it an hour and half down the road I called and Danielle fetched it from the room and kept it safe. Danielle and Paulina made sure it got posted a day later to me at no extra cost than the postage.

A modern hotel with friendly, well trained staff serving good food, recommended.

Two course for a £10 is excellent value, good food and great service, would return again. Thoroughly recommend to anyone who want some decent food. Many places to choose from in Aviemore but this is near the top. Try the haggis balls to start with.

Me and my husband stayed at the hotel for four nights in June 2014. We liked the informal athmosphere with the staff, we came there to have a fun and sporty time and woud not even wanted the staff to dress and act up like the customers were kings and queens! It was great to have a little chat with one young woman working there. She made my day! Ps. We went to hike up the mountain you recommended as "your place"! Thanks for the tip! ;)

Breakfast was basic and more than enough, the same I would eat at home, cereal, yoghurt and toast. My husband ordered eggs and bacon every morning and was really satisfied. No complaints there, i did not expect a five start hotel breakfast anyway with fancy peeled oranges and what not... ;)

The room was facing to the road, a bit noisy during the day but who would want to stay inside during the day anyway with those views? The room was big, a bit oldfashioned, but we did not mind. Internet was perfect, worked great the whole time. Was easy to plan the day by the weather with fast internet. :)

We too heard funny noises coming from the pipes, but it only made us laugh. Water pressure in the shower was ok, but could have been better. But that's just first world problems again...

The bed though was the only thing I must complain about. It was very uncomfortable and it was hard to sleep because there weren't a mattress protector (or what ever it is called in English...) and therefore we could feel the strings very badly. (Room nm.4). After a long day hiking and biking, the sleep is important! ;)

You could add the normal hotel "do not disturb, i am taking it easy today" signs, that the customers could hang at the door. Twice we wanted to sleep later and the staff was knocking on the door and coming in. Not their fault of course and we did not mind, but it could be good to have those though.

Thanks for the great four days we stayed in Aviemore! :) Take it easy!

Tipps: go eat at the Skii-ing do restaurant 150 meters towards the trainstation, food was great!! I would do anying to get their chokolade fudge cake with ice cream one more time.. Also, hire bikes at Mike's! There are two "offices" to get the bikes, they made moving around easy and fun.

We stayed here for 3 nights June 2014 and found it very comfortable. Friendly staff, tasty breakfast and comfortable bed made our stay enjoyable. On the minus side, we found the road noisy from early morning and the wooden blinds were attractive but not effective in keeping out the early morning light. Overall, we would stay again if visiting Aviemore but take earplugs and a sleep mask!

Room Tip: Ask for a room away from the road

My room faced the road. It had double-glazing, but it seemed to be the most ineffective at keeping the noise out that I have experienced. The blind was pretty much useless at keeping the light out. All I ask from a hotel room is darkness and silence. It failed.

There also seemed to be some confusion when I tried to order a packed lunch. You would have thought it would be a regular request, being in Aviemore. I gave up and went to Tesco.

Room Tip: Try and get one away from the road, if they exist.

The rule of thumb is you get what you pay for,in this instance you get a whole lot more!!

There are three of us staying this evening(06.06.2014) and all agree that the quality of food and standard of service was more than we could have expected. The reception, restaurant and bar are immaculate and have a very nice modern and tasteful finish, the bedrooms are of good proportions, very clean and very well maintained.

The location is excellent for the station,a mere 5 mins walk.

The international Starters is in my opinion undervalued it's certainly worth more than the rate we have paid, and it cannot be said enough that the food is fantastic.

The title says it all.
