“Great night away!! ”

High Range is a fantastic place to stay! It is in a great location with shops, pubs and cafés all within walking distance. The views are sensational! Staff were excellent and friendly and the facilities were brilliant. We had a really enjoyable night away and at an excellent price as well! We would definitely stay again and will choose to stay here whenever we came back through to Aviemore!

We had a lovely week here, very clean and quiet, plenty of storage and the perfect size for a couple (1 bed chalet). The location is perfect, just 5 min walk into town, and with delicious pizza at La Taverna only seconds away. All the staff we met were polite, knowledgeable and helpful.

We rented the Ben McDui chalet for one week in January 2014. It forms one half of a chalet building.

The chalet is located behind the reception area with the other chalets, circling a small children's play area.

Electricity is pre paid cards that are purchased from reception. We spent £17 during the week.

The kitchen/diner/lounge is small but effective. The two small plastic arm chairs weren't designed for extended tv viewing! Ouch. So no cuddling up together in front of the telly.

The bedroom was cosy with a vanity unit, bedside cabinets and a wardrobe but no tv.

The bathroom was narrow but served it's purpose. There is only a shower and the "SupaJet" brand name on it was quite misleading! A word of advice if you try to shower in January, make sure the heating is on in the bathroom! The trickling shower won't keep you warm :)

Once again we visited the highrange and had food at La Taverna, excellent value for money and was remembered from staff from our many visits to highrange. Big range of Pasta, Pizza and desserts. The last time we visited La Taverna was invited to take our dog into bar at Managers discrection which was great customer service

Room Tip: Chalets are great for families who have pets

Another relaxing holiday in the Craigallachie Chalet with my Daughter who is on a visit from the USA. She commented on how clean the bed linen and towels were and the chalet. We sat and watched the birds that came so close to the Chalet and was surprised at the amount of different species we saw all on the same day. I will be back again.

We stayed in the Braerich chalet for 2 nights. The chalet is quite clean and spacious but definitely needs redecorated! The chalet is very dated and the beds are not comfortable, it's like sleeping on springs! We did see that other chalets have been redecorated and they do look better! In the chalet there is a spacious main living/dining area and a small kitchen to the left. There is a bathroom qhich is a wet room, and therw are two bedrooms at the back of the chalet. The kitchen has enough kitchen appliances for 6 people but if you want a decent sized mug then take your own! Overall the chalets are clean, spacious but coild do with a bit of decorating! And for the money you pay you would expect a bit better!

The chalets didn't have hoovers or other cleaning devices.
Difficult to find anything good to say about this site except that Mr. Playfair and his staff are excellent, helpfull, friendly etc.
For caravaners / campers there is only one water, waste and toilet block which is situated at the top of a hill. The entrance to the toilet block is by a card system which is a nuisance to put it mildly. The toilet block is closed from 12 to 3pm daily for cleaning!!!!!!!! and is only cleaned once per day!!!! Inside the block, the washing / showering facilities require upgrading as there is nowhere to hang your towel or clothes when washing. No drip dry area in showers or foot mats. Few showers for size of site so people use the disabled showerfacility.
Disabled toilet is spacious but no shower in here and basin is a joke---"wash hand basin"? hardly large enough to wash fingers---it's tiny.
Few camping pitches on grass---mostly on gravel pit base---hard as hell.
