On arriving, reception was in darkness... with a note saying to present yourself at the bar if reception is unmanned (when we arrived there was a football match on and the bar was packed with numerous drunk people). Had to pay upfront which was a bit unusual then were informed that it was karaoke night and when we made a joke about not needing any sleep that night were told in no uncertain terms that this is just the way it is! The room was clean(ish) but the shower really was tiny and unsuitable for anyone with a bit of extra girth!! Karaoke night went on until 1am and was definitely audible in our room. At breakfast there were a couple with two young children so I dread to think how awful their night must have been.
On the plus side, the owner was very friendly and he and his wife certainly put on a good breakfast! And the hotel is very central for all the great things Aviemore has to offer!

The major plus is Phil, the manager. Really couldn't be more freindly and helpful, as were the staff. If you don't want your room cleaned the chamber maid wil absolutely insist you take fresh towels. Pub is a very local place and although far from being a lovely country/resort type pub it is none the less friendly. Great location, rooms a bit basic and could do with tarting up a bit but clean and well equipped. Not a honeymoon hotel but certianly great value for money.

Just spent 3 nights here on a stag trip. Rooms are basic but have everything you could need and are very clean. Food in the bar was again basic pub grub but well priced and served all day long. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for somewhere to stay for a stag or hen weekend. The owner Phil made us all feel very welcome which alot of hotels dont when there is a large group of lads away together. Great location just a short walk to the center of town.

A great wee hotel in aviemore, great prices fantastic staff, grumpy management.
THe hotel is well located for aviemore centre, shops, restaurants, railway station, bus station, and the steam railway.
I was glad to here that the hotel has new management, and has been refurbaced, so i will be back, although my stay with the last management was fine, well apart from the management, totally couldnt care if you stayed or not, grumpy, would not even say hello to our grandson and make him welcome, the manager kept dissapearing and no one new where she was, infact she stayed across the road.
Anyway the staff were great so was the food, a bit funny having your tea while the locals played pool in front of you, ,not exactly fine dining, by any means very loud music during dinner as well they seem to prefer the group, My Chemical Romance, it seemed to be on a loop, now i like the band, but not every three minutes or so.
I will be back this year to see what the new people have done, i hope it is better, but i suppose you get what you pay for, still it was a nice time anyway.

Room Tip: Ask if the rooms have been refurbished

Again, this place was busy- we came here a number of times as it offerred free WiFi, and the kids could get on their laptops etc! (limited in aviemore).
Friendly staff as usual, but meals i thought were a little bland, and the sunday Roasts (all be it on New Years day), were not great!
This was probably due to the heavy custom the night before i feel, so will have that in mind!

decent service and a decent pub for grub in the village!

Room Tip: Decent pub where WiFi is free!

A friendly welcome on arrival by the Manager and personally shown to our accommodation. Recently taken over by new management and the accommodation is being refurbished to a good standard. Accommodation is compact but more than adequately meets your needs. TV and tea/coffee making facilities. En Suite shower would not be suitable for the 'larger' person. An average Scottish breakfast served until 9.30 am. There is a dining area in the Bar for other meals to be purchased throughout the day. The quality and the portions of food served cannot be faulted and all meals are competitively priced with other Restaurants/Bars in Aviemore. Bar staff are also extremely friendly and helpful. Lots of car parking spaces available.

Room Tip: Live entertainment in the Inn on weekends until 1 am but the noise hardly carries to the accommodati...
