Visited Papa Rock on a Thursday lunchtime with friends, only ending up there as our usual 'haunt' was too busy.
Staff were extremely friendly without being a nuisance.
Food wasn't too bad and the prices seemed reasonable.
Portion sizes on 'specials' were more child-size so if you're hungry avoid these options.
Would I go again? Yes.

We visited here recently with our young family and a friend. The staff were great with the kids and made them and us feel really welcome from the moment we stepped through the door. Balloons on the chairs and highchair were a winner with our two.
Service was really quick my friend an I opted for the high tea menu, great value at £11.95 for toast (yip...toasted bread...its was great!), a main course and a selection of cakes with tea/coffee. I had the burger which was great and special mention for the chips because they were also fresh, hot and crispy. Kids meals were also great, good to see them taking and interest here and not serving up the usual processes stuff, our 18 month old enjoyed the very cheesy, proper homemade mac n cheese with garlic bread, And our 5 year old cleared his plate (never happens when we're out) of his hot dog and chips (they also come with a goody bag for the kids. The waiting staff had loads of time for the kids, especially our 5 year old who can ask a lot of questions! Each on answered and couldn't have been more helpful - even an extra couple of scoops of ice cream for the wee charmer.
Extra special points for the Gluten Free menu from my wife. Something we rarely see when going out to eat, but there it was included in the usual menu. She had steak sizzler and loved it...and loved the gluten free carrot cake even more. Not only did they have gluten free food but they had choices of dessert...not just chips and a scoop of ice cream here. So if you do have coeliac this is definitely worth a visit.
Colouring in for the kids too, and even a chocolate motorbike for each of them. Not many 'family friendly' places are actually that friendly but Papa's is and well worth a visit. Reasonably priced too, you'll be full.
Can't praise it enough, thanks very much for a great meal and we'll definitely be back the next time we're in Aviemore.

This motorbike / rock music styled restaurant wasn't an obvious choice for us, but the food was good and the service friendly, helpful, and prompt. The menu concentrates on sandwiches, burgers, fajitas etc. and I had a fajita wrap - it was very tasty and served with coleslaw and salad (with a good dressing). Overall a very enjoyable lunch on a rather wet day.

Dark dirty premises, sticky tables, torn dirty menus and a funny smell.

Oh, and they don't take card payments. Tax dodge or just stuck in the Stone Age?

We decided to eat here on our recent visit to Aviemore as we'd been before and knew how brilliant the staff were with the kids. We weren't disappointed. Our wee one was absolutely over the moon with the whole experience and still talks about going back. The food was yummy, massive portions and served very fast. Lots of little gifts for the 3 year old to take away too. Including a balloon which unfortunately ended up sailing over Cairngorm and off into the beyond. Cue one distraught child. Oops. Highly recommend this place for families of all ages, folk into music memorabilia and generally anyone wanting a good feed in a nice atmosphere. Doesn't take cards but there's a machine over the road.
