My husband and I, along with our 2 daughters, have been on wildlife watching trips with Steve for the last 3 years and are always planning our next trip. It is always the highlight of our visit to Aviemore. He has put an incredible amount of work into the itinerary, planning the day to maximise the different species seen and the range of habitats visited. We travel up to Aviemore by train so initially felt that this would be a good way to get out and see the local wildlife and scenery. The first trip exceeded all our expectations including that of our youngest daughter, who was 10 at the time, and desperate to see a golden eagle. (we saw 3!). Steve relates really well with young people and engages them in the trip., making it fun for everyone. The children keep a species list for us as we spot things which adds to the fun-our record being-65 birds and 9 mammals! Although we have done 3 trips no two are the same as Steve takes into account the weather conditions and any new local sightings. He pitches the day really well in order to take into account your level of knowledge..
Steve’s knowledge and enthusiasm for wildlife and the local area is infectious and his spotting skills are amazing. He constantly checks that everyone is comfortable and getting what they want from the trip.
Breakfast watching the fantastic antics of red squirrels and lunch watching ospreys fish over a remote loch are fabulous intervals in a brilliant day. I can’t recommend this day highly enough.
