My husband and I, along with our 2 daughters, have been on wildlife watching trips with Steve for the last 3 years and are always planning our next trip. It is always the highlight of our visit to Aviemore. He has put an incredible amount of work into the itinerary, planning the day to maximise the different species seen and the range of habitats visited. We travel up to Aviemore by train so initially felt that this would be a good way to get out and see the local wildlife and scenery. The first trip exceeded all our expectations including that of our youngest daughter, who was 10 at the time, and desperate to see a golden eagle. (we saw 3!). Steve relates really well with young people and engages them in the trip., making it fun for everyone. The children keep a species list for us as we spot things which adds to the fun-our record being-65 birds and 9 mammals! Although we have done 3 trips no two are the same as Steve takes into account the weather conditions and any new local sightings. He pitches the day really well in order to take into account your level of knowledge..
Steve’s knowledge and enthusiasm for wildlife and the local area is infectious and his spotting skills are amazing. He constantly checks that everyone is comfortable and getting what they want from the trip.
Breakfast watching the fantastic antics of red squirrels and lunch watching ospreys fish over a remote loch are fabulous intervals in a brilliant day. I can’t recommend this day highly enough.

My husband and I went on a full days wildlife watching experience with Steve. He is an enthusiastic and intrepid guide and it was great seeing animals such as red squirrel, mountain hare and reindeer. We had the opportunity to see and feed wild birds close up. The highlight of the day was right at the end where we saw 3 golden eagles soaring together in the sky.
The whole day was well organised with not too much driving. As someone who does not have a huge knowledge of birds and animals Steves tour was well pitched and he was not at all judging of our lack of knowledge! However, I feel it would suit everyone whether someone with a general interest in wildlife or a specilialist interested in seeing a particular species. Overall, a fantastic highland experience!

Having visited the Cairngorms and Rothiemurchus before and been disappointed with the amount of wildlife that we could find for ourselves, this time we wanted to ensure that we would not miss out - so we booked a day safari with Steve Reddick. The day was excellent!! Steve is extremely knowledgable; not only does he know where to be and when, he also has a great eye for spotting wildlife that we would have easily missed. Steve picked us from our accomodation and later a cooked breakfast, whilst watching the red squirrels on the feeders, was also included.

We saw roe deer, red deer, a capercallie with chicks, slavonian grebes, oyster catcher, dippers, brown hare and mountain hare, red grouse chicks and so much more .......A particular highlight was watching an Osprey swoop down and pluck a fish from the loch and then fly right over our heads.

Steve has a great sense of humour and the day was pitched to suit our needs. Beginners and advanced wildlife or bird watchers would all benefit from his local knowledge and years' of experience.

Ladies fear not, toilet breaks are slotted in, using good local facilities, throughout the day. This trip was a major highlight and I would highly recommend a safari with Steve if you want to get the best out of your visit to the Cairngorms. Recommend that you have a chat with Steve and book before you go to Scotland so you can discuss your day in advance like we did, but you might get late availability after you arrive by calling Steve (mobile 07974151503).
