Why not upgrade to First Class to enjoy a meal in one of our compartments, finely decorated in it's own tartan, with vintage British Rail mirrors and luggage racks inside.Split your trip up with a visit to Boat of Garten to explore some fantastic walk trails or bring your bike on board to explore the great cycle routes in the area. “Great attraction.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 April 2014 via mobile

We made a sudden decision to visit on the Saturday morning. Phoned to check there was space and the folks on the phone were very helpful, gave us directions, told us exactly where to park, and where to get the tickets.

The train is beautifully kept as is the station. Train staff were very friendly and polite. Loved the trip and seeing the lambs in the fields as we passed. Glen bogle station really Broomhill, is a great stop. Next time we will be sure to book ahead and have one of the meals on the train. Volunteers have done a grand job and massive thanks must go to them. The return journey was very reasonably priced as well. Excellent outing!

“Diesel Service Was Fab”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 April 2014

Having been on the steam train a few times we booked the diesel service for Easter. It was a lovely sunny day and the big panoramic windows gave us great views all round which was fantastic. The best bit as far as I, and my 8 year old nephew was concerned, was sitting behind the driver and having a view right down the track due to the big glass windows at the front too. It was something we had never experienced before and great fun - we felt like train drivers!

“Choo-choo Train”

Took me back to my childhood and the grandchildren loved it - being on a 'real' train - and sat quietly, were very well behaved. Lovely to see our Cousin's farmhouse as we passed by.

“Expensive”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 April 2014

We took a family trip on an old diesel locomotive. Enjoyable few hours through great Cairngorm scenery but I did feel it was expensive. It is great to see these things running though, wondeful what enthusiastic volunteers can achieve.

Dear reviewer,

Everyone at the railway would like to thank you and your family for choosing to travel with us.
It is great to hear that you all had such an enjoyable experience and our volunteers will be delighted to read your words of support.
We hope you will all come and join us again in the near future, and that you will perhaps be able to enjoy another of the many great family packages (Teddy Bear Weekend, Santa Express etc) that we offer - available through our highly informative and easy to use website, shown above.

All the best

“When you go first class carriage - excellent!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 April 2014 via mobile

Booked this for a birthday Easter Sunday lunch and were blessed with warm sunshine. Pretty much faultless from the start, reserved First Class dining carriage in Black Watch tartan, full menu with 3 choices for each of 3 courses, chilled wine all prepared and served by staff from the local Cairngorm Hotel. Brief stop in Boat of Garten and longer stop at Broomhill (fictional Glen Bogle) by which time you have had starters and mains. Return journey sees desserts, coffee/tea and fudge. Round trip is just over 90 minutes and well worth it - £153 for 4 or approx £185 by time we had 2 bottles of wine. We want to try the evening meal now - which starts in June. Highly recommended for a treat or special occasion. Apparently, route is soon to be extended and a second steam engine added all by volunteers so VERY well done!
