We stayed for nights in a chalet room behind the guesthouse. It was very spacious, warm, modern and clean with a double and single bed and large bathroom. There is a porch so good for equipment storage.
Breakfast was man sized and delicious with a large choice on off. Our friends who came to see us for the day also ate breakfast with us which showed the hospitality of the owners.
Very warm and friendly we Highly recommend this place.

Room Tip: Try a chalet if you need extra space. Great for photographers to have your own front door to catch early morning photo shoots... They also made an early breakfast for us too.

We happened into this guest house when the neighboring guesthouse had vacancies for "room only" no breakfast, the first place we tried was very rude about not having a twin room or space for us at breakfast, so we tried Ravenscraig right next door and were met with such a warm welcome it was lovely.

We stayed in a chalet room in the rear of the property which were spacious and modern, so quiet off the main road, chickens in the fence of the parking area were not too noisy in the morning due to lack of a rooster. Plenty of room to park our rental car. Breakfast was very large, we didn't, take everything offered and still it was too much.

Room Tip: The chalet rooms have holiday lights that blink outside the window all night, you have to draw the drapes tight if this type of thing bothers you.

A very warm welcome from the mother of the owner who was away. Beautifully furnished room (#5), with very nice soft furnishings etc and a comfy bed. Good ensuite shower room too. Breakfast was ample and excellent. Only a 5 minute walk from the High St too.

Our family stayed here just one night. We were shown wonderful hospitality.

The rooms were clean and comfortable and modern.

The complimentary breakfast was beautifully presented, classy and tasty.

Kudos!

We've stayed a couple of times at Ravenscraig while visiting family who live in Aviemore and on both occasions we've received a very warm welcome from Jonathan. We've just returned from our second stay for two nights and enjoyed it as much, if not more, than our first!

Our first stay was in one of the chalets at the back of the property which are probably a little more spacious than one of the front bedrooms we stayed in this time around, but never-the-less, both rooms and en-suites are stylishly decorated, very comfortable, well equipped and very clean. The plus to staying in a room (No.5) at the front of the house is that you get a wonderful view of the Cairngorm Mountains - a real treat as the sun sets and also again when you open the blinds first thing in the morning!

Beds are not as firm as we'd prefer (personal preference - I'm sure many like a slightly softer mattress would have no problem at all), but still comfortable and the bedlinen is good quality which all goes a long way towards a very good night's sleep and a restful stay.

Breakfast offers a wide choice - great range of cereals, fresh fruit, fruit salad, white & wholemeal toast and Jonathan's homemade marmelade - try it, it's truly delicious! We also tried the delicious (and none greasy) full traditional Scottish breakfast (with plenty of flexibility to accomodate all diets and tastes!), Poached eggs (eggs not laid by the chickens in the outside pen, but we were confidently assured were local & free range) and smoked salmon on muffins (a lovely, tasty way to start the day!), alternatively the homemade porridge with berry fruit compote, seeds, honey or plain is also a real treat and will certainly set you up for a day's exploring and activity!

The lounge with it's open fire (lit in the colder months), cosy rugs, antique style furniture, plus welcoming resident cat Milly(!), make for a great place to relax and chill out either after breakfast or after a day's skiing, hiking or cycling!

Overall a very welcoming place to stay in a charming traditional style house which is very restful and relaxing with delicious breakfasts. You couldn't wish for anymore from a B&B!

Room Tip: Chalets offer a little more space. Room No.5 is a little smaller, but has great views of the Cairngorm Mountains.
