I booked into this Hostel last min. Not only that, I asked for a special request. Not only did the hostel staff accommodate my request, they were genuinely friendly and interested in what I was doing in the area. I'd not ordered breakfast, however when i requested again i was accomodated. I pushed the boundaries in every way in terms of customer services upon my visit and at every step i was met with accommodating and friendly hostel staff. Thank you so much for making my stay in Scotland so stress free and perfect.

If you travel to Aviemore, stay out of town. This hostel is quite comfortable and well-managed. The location can't be beat. The bus ride from Aviemore is only 20 minutes or so and well worth it. Great walks in the nearby hills.

The hostel was really cute. After the big City it was really Relaxing to stay at this cozy lodge. The bedroom was quite spacious, the view from the dining room was beautiful and the common room offered entertainment.
The staff were very friendly and patient in answering our many questions.
All in all we had an awesome time there!

The hostel is in a great location with good public transport links to Aviemore and the ski centre. Good drying room. Clean throughout. The kitchen was well equipped but small for the number of guests when the hostel was full. Catering was available this Easter and was very good. A nice touch was the scones available to purchase for afternoon tea. The staff were friendly and helpful.
Downside: many bedrooms did not have plug sockets and the beds had no personal lighting. Storage consisted of a few coat hangers on a rack. Internet connection was expensive.

Although we stayed over a snowy weekend and the hostel was full of skiers and winter mountaineers, it still felt spacious, pleasant, friendly and relaxed. The men's dorm I stayed in was nicely laid out - beds not crammed together - and the kitchen, showers and common rooms were all kept superbly clean - all credit to the staff there. It's a lovely location too, catching the sun (yep, it was a sunny Febraury weekend). From the back you can walk straight out over Ryvoan pass and into Abernethy forest. And the bus stops right outside the hostel, into Aviemore one way, and up to the ski station the other way - hugely preferable to struggling to find car parking space. Opposite is the amazing Pine Marten bar - not just tea, coffee, cakes, drinks, but outdoor kit essentials, groceries, sauna... as well as hammock making and ceramic painting. So, thank you Cairngorm Lodge YH!

Very first time staying at a hostel. The staff were very helpful and went out of their way when they had been fully booked to help us find somewhere else to stay. The beds were comfy and the showers great after a day on the Hill. Would gladly stay again and will recommend to people in the future. For anyone who hasn't stayed at a hostel before my first experience was great. I got to meet lots of different people all with interests in the outdoors all with different stories to tell which was a great way to round off a good day.

The rooms and bathrooms were clean and the beds comfortable, but everything else was an extra cost. The views are incredible, but after staying in Hostels all over Scotland, I have to say this one was just average.
