“Weekdays at the Priory Hotel, Beauly, Scotland”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 September 2013

The hotel is fine, service is great, location is brilliant but cleanliness on the room we stayed did not satisfied my expectations as tiles needs cleaning. Towels are not changed even if I put in the floor and came back they just hang it again with marks on it. Bed sheets and pillow cases not changed as well for the 3 days we spent there. Wifi is always disconnected every minute so not worth connecting with it. It's not ideal too if you wanted to stay in bed late than 8am as the busy road is your alarm. We only like the foods they serve although cooked breakfast was floating in oil. Haha. Count the sausages and bacons they serve too in case menu is not been followed as we experience some shortage during busy
hours in the morning. Will we stay again? We read your reviews in the future..!

Thank you for your review, I have read your comments and appreciate there were some shortcomings. It is good to get this type of feedback and be assured these issues will be
brought to the attention of the relevant departments. Unfortunately due to our location there is not a lot we can do about the traffic noise, although guests can request rear facing rooms, where this is less of an issue.

Than You again

We stayed four nights visiting relatives nearby.

The Priory was an ideal base. The rooms are possibly lacking in luxury but are clean and tidy and certainly comfortable. The food was good too.

Good value, we will stay again when we are next in the area

Thank you for your review - glad you enjoyed your stay.

We are currently upgrading some of our standard rooms to make them better and hopefully other than size they should compare well with our more superior rooms.

Nice large room, clean comfortable. We stayed here on our way from Edinburgh to Inverness no idea why our travel agent put us here and not Inverness. Not much else but The Priory which is right next door and free in Beauly. Ee ate in the hotel pub which was pretty good.

Glad you enjoyed your stay in The Priory.
Sorry you did not get your preferred location - more than likely Inverness would have been full and Beauly is then the next option.

Thank You for your review

This is a lovely hotel situated in a beautiful little village in Scottish Highlands. When we arrived the receptionist had no record of our booking (booked through booking.com) We were given a room which was very clean and comfortable but the bed was a bit small and we suspect that it may have been used for single occupancy as there were only enough towels for one person when we arrived. This was rectified the next morning. We had dinner here on both of the nights and the food was excellent. The dining room is decorated in modern style with colourful pictures on walls which look great. Breakfast was good and served with efficiently with a smile. Very nice hotel, would recommend it and would certainly stay there again.

About 35 of us came here after an outing down Loch Ness for high tea and I can honestly say it was the ideal ending to a pleasant day out. There was a choice of four cooked items all of which looked very tempting. I personally had macaroni cheese which was delicious. We had toast, and tea or coffee and then huge home baked scones, a selection of cakes and to crown it all wonder ful meringues which were popular with everyone. There was more than enough to eat and I heard nothing but good reports from people in the party. The staff were very efficient, helpful and pleasant. Most enjoyable.

Having been forced to stay at the Conan bridge hotel (AVOID AT ALL COSTS) for three nights I was delighted to stay at The Priory for my fourth, the room was fantastic, the food was amazing (try the salmon and cray fish tagliatelle, perfection on a plate) the staff are extremely helpful and friendly, the barman even bought me a drink with his own cash, great place to stay after an extremely hard days graft.

Back up next week :)

This is a delightful hotel with many traditional touches, such as a fine Scottish high tea, but has also been modernised with excellent rooms. Breakfast was very good and the hotel was centrally situated in the charming small town of Beauly. Our only complaint came about because we were part of a group that included two older people with physical disabilities. In spite of being an up market hotel, there was no night porter, so the front door was locked and the lift switched off at 11.00 pm We were attending an anniversary party on the Black Isle and so got back shortly after 11.00 pm. We had been given a key, so got in by the back door, past a very rowdy group in the Bistro Bar, so hotel staff were on the premises. Our unfortunate friends had to struggle up the stairs with sticks and crutches on their own, with some help from us, as the lift was switched off. This is not acceptable in the 21st century, particularly as the back bar was still busy and open.

Room Tip: Ask for a superior room at the front

Thank you for your review.

I personally had discussed the late night process with the guests and offered to wait for them to return, realising that they had some walking difficulty and they said they would be OK.

If as stated you were back before we closed, then the lift would still have been accessible from the bar area you described walking through, the lift does not get turned off.

I am sorry if there was some confusion over the situation I thought I had described the situation
clearly with the guests.

Apologies for any inconvenience, hopefully it will not deter you from visiting us again.
