First impressions here were poor; the middle aged lady we met at reception was downright frosty towards my partner and I when we walked in for a meal. We really did feel unwelcome, despite having greeted her in a friendly manner. Is she always like that or was it something about us? However, our evening meal was very pleasant, as were the young staff who served us. We'd return, but it won't be for the warm welcome.

Apologies for the welcome you received, glad you still enjoyed your meal and the rest of the service.

Unfortunately it happens although we know it should not.

We stayed for 2 nights over the first weekend in November.

Our room was spacious, clean and very warm & cosy. The bathroom was huge with a shower and a bath tub and spotlessly clean.

We ate in the hotel one evening from the high tea menu which was good value and very tasty with top ups of tea & coffee included, most welcome after a long day out in the area.

Breakfast was more than adequate but it would have been nice to have had the option of fresh fruit and croissants as well as the full Scottish breakfast.

The staff are all welcoming and friendly as well as efficient - so all in all a great place for a weekend break and we will be staying here again.

Stayed here for two nights whilst up on business.

Had a double room and ate in the restaurant both nights.

The room was warm, well appointed with everything I needed for my stay. Large desk and working area with WiFi free in the rooms, so excellent for business travel. Nice comfy double bed and a large bathroom with separate bath and shower. Excellent room facilities - 5*

Dining room was large and bright, great service from the girls and the food was really good. first night I had the smoked trio of meats which was ok, nothing superb but tasty and a decent portion, then the fillet of venison which was my favourite meal of the stay, beautifully cooked and seasoned with lovely accompanying veg. Second night had the prawn cocktail I think, then the venison burger, which was a bit dry but a good portion.

Breakfast offered a good choice but the main gripe I have are the sausages. To say there is a butcher 3 doors down the quality was absolutely rubbish. When you cut into a sausage you expect some fibrous texture if it is a proper one, not a smooth pate sort of texture because it is processed and watered down. Unfortunately the latter is what was on offer. Ok selection of cereal and fruits, service a bit slower in the morning, my cooked breakfast came before my coffee on the second morning, but overall service was fine. A terrible shame that my lasting memory of this hotel is the very poor standard of sausage !!! As I work in agriculture I am attracted to the quality of meat that is offered by hotels, and especially as the butcher is 3 doors down, very porr indeed!!

HOWEVER would gladly recommend and will happily stay again, I just won't order sausages for breakfast.

Very comfortable bed. nice clean and beautifully decorated room. The bathroom had a wonderful walk in shower. We didn't have it booked before we went. We arrived about 4 o'clock and asked if they had a room available. They did and appologised it was at the back and quite a walk, It was worth it, we even had a small balcony. We had a lovely meal in the bistro, and a good breakfast. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. It looks a lovely old building outside but is nice and modern inside.

Room Tip: We had room 37. The balcony looked down on outside benches in a little courtyard.

Isabel and I found the Priory, thankfully, after trying hotels in Dingwall and Conon Bridge which were uninviting, to put it mildly. Efficient reception service, a large, clean, comfortable room, friendly bar with good food and drinks, good breakfast, newspapers available. Nice clean bathroom as well. A lovely hotel in a nice town.

We got a less than pleasant welcome, more like a tick box; Eating with us? Out late?
Our host walked us to our room with out a word. Other than that, this is a very very nice hotel, we were in room 38 which was huge, and the toilet/shower/bathroom is humungous and most comfortable.
We were coming back late so were furnished with a key. The breakfast next morning was nothing like the usual greasy Scots fair, high quality products, well cooked and politely served. I thoroughly recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: Ask for room 38!

Really sorry about the welcome - not our norm as we always strive to be as friendly as possible.

Glad it did not detract from your overall impression of the Hotel.
