Description: Very busy and popular restaurant right in the heart of the historical and lively village of Beauly. We have a traditional style restaurant, and for a quick pit stop we have a coffee and cake area attached. We also have a more budget offering in our Bistro, which is situated in our main bar. At the Priory we can provide transport to and from the restaurant for tables of 4 or more, within a 5 mile radius free of charge. Booking is highly recommended. The restaurant has full wheelchair access.

The Priory hasn't really moved forward in the last 25 years and is stuck in a time warp. Food is good but the menu is devoid of imagination. We had the high tea menu and there was nothing at all local by description there although the food was perfectly good and properly cooked. Presentation was somewhat lacking and the crockery and serving dishes went out of fashion in most places many years ago. I had hoped that The Priory would have become more modern and imaginative, but I'm afraid that for now that is not the case. Service was pleasant although a bit muddled in places. I would return but would like to think that the place doesn't stay stuck in a time warp for ever.

I visited here with my husband on our first night in Beauly, after this was recommended to us by our B&B. The dining room itself is very old fashioned and staff not particularly friendly. We ordered our meals and they came very quickly, so were obviously not freshly made. I have to say that both of our meals were of poor quality and barely warm. The meals are not cheap and expected much more. The only positive was that the wine served was very nice. Would not recommend anyone to this restaurant.

We had "High Tea" here and were slightly disappointed, The vegetarian options are limited and my wife's choice "macaroni" was only slightly warm, My "mixed grill" was very greasy and the "Ox liver" was very overcooked and was tough as leather. The home baked scones, cakes, biscuits and meringues were wonderful.

We were disappointed by the greeting which was brusque to the point of being rude. With a change of waitress later in the meal things got much better - but a shame we have to rely on Danes to get it right in this department! The food was Ok in parts, but the good reports we had received before about the place were not really borne out, and the manager who took the payment at the end was also, sadly, rather dour.

We spent a week near Inverness and had dinner almost every evening in this place. We enjoy it so much that we did not want to try another place with only one evening exception. Food is very good and very good value for money and the service quick and efficient.
