Know where in the description or photos does it say there is a caravan site situated right next to Dunmore House.
We actually had to have side bedroom curtains closed all the time as caravan people could look right into your bedroom..
We spent a week at Dunmore House with family. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and we were made very welcome by Julie.
The house was very well equipped, spotlessly clean and the views were spectacular.
We booked to stay at Dunmore House following our wedding. We stayed with some friends as a sort of road trip and had lots of fun exploring the area!
Dunmore House is a beautiful homely holiday home on the hill looking down onto Beauly and across the water to Inverness.
Everything was well presented and clean. The sun lounge was lovely to sit in during the evenings with the sun setting or enjoying a cup of tea after breakfast.
The large kitchen meant there was plenty of space for all of us for help cook and clean. The sitting room is large too, with two comfy leather sofas. There is a dining table in the kitchen but also one on the other side of the sitting room which looks out onto the fields and down the valley.
The beds were warm and comfortable with extra blankets in the wardrobes if needed. The bathrooms were all clean and the ensuite has a bath and separate shower. Soft towels were provided.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and were sad to leave! Julie was an amazing host, giving suggestions for restaurants in the local area (my husband and my friends husband have dietary requirements) and she also let us met and help feed the lambs on her farm (it was coming to the end of the lambing season).
Thank you for such a lovely stay! We look forward to staying again in the future.
Absolutely loved our stay in Dunmore House. The view was amazing. Dunmore House was beautiful. Always warm and cozy and stunning views from every window. Very roomy and lots of character. Great kitchen area. Julie was there to welcome us and was available to answer any questions. Helped us with ideas of what was in the area to see during our stay. Would highly recommend a holiday at Dunmore house.
We as a family of six, have just spent a week at Dunmore Holiday Cottage near Beauly and it is just about as perfect as you can get ! You look out on fantastic picture postcard views and I could spend hours just sitting looking at the scenery in all directions, the calm surroundings belies the fact that you are centrally located to explore all the major tourist attractions like Loch Ness, Culloden Moor and lesser known areas which can be just as captivating. Beauly is situated in the valley below and all the the usual ammenities are to be found here with some very fine restuarants.
However if you just want to relax as I did, this is the place to be, it is so peaceful I just enjoyed a beer or two and watched the wildlife that abounds in this area, Julie who owns the premises is as friendly as you would wish for, nothing is too much trouble for the lady and I certainly enjoyed my chats with her !
All in all I cannot recommend this Holiday highly enough, for me it was perfection and I'm sure many others would agree.
Thank you for everything Julie.
Situated at the top of the hill, with a wonderful view down over Beauly and out towards the kessock bridge and the black isle, the perfect spot for a morning coffee outside in the garden watching the sun rise up and the countryside come alive. The swallows dancing through the meadow grass and the red kites and buzzards soaring on the thermals is just a small part of the amazing display that greets you every day. The horses and the ponies, the chickens and even the dogs are a great delight to watch in the fields. The local village of Beauly has everything you could need, bank, post office, chip shop, indian restuarant, chinese takeaway, hotels, playparks, shops, cafes and lovely walks along the riverside or through the woods. A car journey can take you to loch ness for some monster hunting, or you can follow the signs and visit all the small villages with beautiful beaches like shandwick Balintore, Dornoch, Nairn and Rosemarkie but to name a few. Lots of nice wee cafes and resturants in these places too and everyone is so friendly and welcoming. We have been coming to Dunmore for almost 8 years now and every year we book to come back. The caravans are beautiful too, as we have stayed there when the house was fully booked! There is archery, paintballing and lasertag at Wildwoodz in Munlochy, swimming with the flumes and donuts at inverness pool, horse riding or pony trekking from one of the many equestrian centres, ceramic painting at Tarbet, swimming with the wild dolphins at dornoch or watching the dolphions jump at chanonry point. We have always had a wonderful holiday at Dunmore and Julie, Martin, Fiona and Neil are always so delighted to see you and make you feel like your part of their family.
Countdown has already commenced to our next stay at Dunmore House.
