“An excellent holiday let”
Reviewed 14 July 2016 for a stay in May 2016

Northwinds was a lovely cottage, all on one floor with excellent facilities. Good off road parking and views to die for. We loved watching the Orkney Ferry traveling to and fro and could walk to the terminal. A lovely welcome hamper was provided and we received a very warm welcome. Highly recommended.

“Home from home with a wonderful view”
Reviewed 27 June 2016 for a stay in June 2016

North Winds is just as described and has everything you could want. Stunning views, really well equipped and looked after by Ethel, our charming hostess. The welcome pack of local goodies was a nice touch. With Thurso and Wick only 20 minutes away grocery shopping was easy! Castle Arms hotel in Mey (5 minute drive) highly recommended for dinner and The Cabin in John O'Groats has the best battered fish we've had. Weather was fantastic and scenery in Caithness and Sutherland was stunning. Don't miss Orkney and the John O'Groats Ferry day trip is highly recommended.

“Relaxing holiday ”
Reviewed 27 October 2015 for a stay in October 2015

From the moment we arrived at North Winds we were relaxed. The cottage was really comfortable and had everything we needed. It is in a great location for exploring the local area. The sea view was a lovely touch when we got up the first morning. Looking forward to coming back to the area.

“Lovely stay”
Reviewed 4 September 2015 for a stay in September 2015

It was an awesome and lovely stay at the North Winds. The weather wasn't so good - but the House is amazing! It's so beautiful and at an interessting place. You definitly have to take a ferry to the Orkneys - if you are lucky you get Stuart as your Coach Driver.
David and Ethel welcomes you so heartly, you feel like you're home from the first second on.
Thank you so much!
