Went to the park hotel for dinner which we had in the bar area. Two of our party had duck which was over cooked with a tasteless sauce. We were over charged on our bill but refunded when we queried it. We may have been on an off night but would not recommend

A trip to Scotland saw myself and partner booked into this hotel. On arrival I wasn't impressed by the exterior of this hotel. It looked cold and uninviting. My mind was soon changed on entering this hotel with warm and friendly staff, beautiful decor, and a sense there was pride with the staff who work here.
Our room was on the first floor, a large room with a double bed with ensuite bath (admittedly the bathroom did need a touch-up).
The food menu was amazing and could have eaten there for days without having the same dish twice as there was different specials on each day. The waiting staff were remarkable and always remembered my favourite tipple.
The breakfast menu wasn't in the least boring and the chef was happy to knock anything up
(to an extent mind).
The walk into town was perhaps a 5 minute one and there was plenty to see and do with amazing views out to sea.
It transpired that this hotel is mainly used by those who are working at Dounreay which sadly now is being decommisioned.
I most certainly stay here again. Good value for money, great staff and thoroughly enjoyed it

Been here a few times with my wife and once with the lads on a biking trip.
Good stay each time.
My family who live in Thurso popped over each time and had a pleasant few beers in the bar.
Brekky is excellent.

Comfortable hotel, well furnished room at the back, friendly & helpful staff. Good choice of food, well cooked and reasonably priced. Reasonable wine list and well-stocked bar. Convenient location on edge of town

Room Tip: Rooms at back have better facilities and are quieter

Nicely fitted hotel, large bedrooms, friendly staff. Poor breakfast choice and quality was the only let down. Dinner was good and nicely cooked. Hotel is well set up to deal with business clients in particular, tourists are in the minority. The area is bleak in the rain with the castle of Mey well worth a visit but John O ' Groats offered nothing special other than the feeling that you had been there. Good quiet roads but not a lot to visit other than the islands.

Room Tip: Rooms are large, the front overlooks a car park and the function area but at most times things are very quiet in Thurso.

Currently we have 10 cereals, 14 cooked items-including local eggs, fish and meat items-4 juices, 8 teas/coffees, 6 jams/marms, 2 breads, 2 milk types, smoothies, yoghurts, fresh + dried fruit. You can visit award winning museums, castles, distilleries, art galleries, gardens, brochs, cairns 4000 years old, potteries, golf courses, wildbird havens, walking trails, forests. We have world class surf, wildlife cruises, horseriding-all before the countless tours of Orkney. I could go on!! I think you needed to take more time to see our county and all we have to offer
