“A wonderful Stay”

We stayed at the harbour house as a group of 9 adult friends. The house has the wow factor, it is very cosy at the same time as being very spacious with little touches of design with make it quite special, ther are 3 double bedrooms one twin and a room with 4 bunk beds , as well as 3 well equiped bathrooms with plenty of hot water. The house is situated about 10 mins north of Wick and 15 south of John OGroats, in a small village with a shop for the papers and the Sinclair Bay hotel that looks nothing from the outside but worth a visit for the welcome and a good meal. The house is approx 1 km from the Sinclair Bay beach, a beautiful beach easily reached on foot and a good time waster for shell hunting. The house is well equiped for the rainy days with DVD,s ,books cards and board games as well as a table tenis table, not to mention the windows which you will find yourself looking out of to watch the fishing boats ,and the four seasons in one day weather. If you do decide to stay you will not be disappointed. My tip to you would be to order a delivery online from the Tescos in Wick and get a delivery on your arrival date it will save a lot of hassle .

wow!! wonderful position of house over looking the harbour, gorgeous views up and down coast, own castle, great friendly fishermen, farmers, neighbours and local pub and shop, incredible decor, brilliantly equipped, could have happily spent more time in the house looking out the views over the sea, watching the fishing boats, painting, playing games, table tennis, having a steam in the luxurious steam room, sitting by the many woodburners...great wildlife, birds,flowers...

thankyou

only down was the stench of the rotting seaweed when low tide, but still well worth visiting.
i hope to be back

“excellent house and location”
Reviewed 19 January 2014 for a stay in January 2014

stunning house, huge with plenty of space, some friends joined us during the week so was 7 of us and the house still felt huge which was great. under floor heating and 3 fires meant the house was always snug. Stunning walks along the coast and lots of tourists spots all within easy distance including ferry for the orkneys. All kitchen equipment provided.

dogs are welcome and mine loved it!

Village was very friendly and welcoming. Had a few storms which was amazing to watch from the house (not the best idea to look from the harbour as you may get washed away). Booking etc was easy and would happily recommend this house.

Stunning House in a beautiful Seaview location! The house is well equipped and the shower was to die for! Loved the roaring log fire. We just stayed for a weekend but wished it was longer. Perfect location to celebrate my friends 40th! the pictures online looked good but the real thing was even better and the views were 2nd to none!

“Spacious, Pampered, practical & high-class accommodation for 2+ dogs”
Reviewed 3 November 2013 for a stay in October 2013

As a well travelled visitor to Scotland's far flung places I was aware that a 10 day visit to Caithness in Oct was unlikely to be a stroll in the sun but more likely to provide more long lasting memorable moments/experiences. And so it was that after being blown North from Leeds for 9hrs by a SE'erly gale we made our dramatic arrival at our storm lashed venue with waves, spray & spume leaping over the harbour walls whilst the local's vessels lay snug in the inner sanctuary. For the next few days, from our sanctuary of Harbour House, we had a "Ring side seat" to see and feel the power of nature (A First.... seaweed on bedroom windows!!) whilst being able to retreat to the indoor luxuries so adequately described in previous reviews. From its situation next to the harbour it is clear that this was, & indeed, continues to be a very special building, in a special part of Britain..... maybe this contributes to one feeling, quickly, at one with the community..... from passing Hello's to the locals, to more lengthy chats with the man who caught the crabs, from the boat below the windows, that went into the sandwiches on sale in the village shop..... lovely. After the storm there was calm and an email enquiring about playing opportunities to the secretary of Wick Golf Club produced a prompt response which lead to an enjoyable round in the company of friendly locals who signed me in at guest rates, ...... bonus :-) From dog walks on the beach and woods to visiting the Orkneys to see buildings older than the pyramids at Scara Brae this area offers such diverse experiences/opportunities and all from, what can only be described as "An Iconic Property" Keiss Harbour House!!!
