Excellent B&B. Good value for money. Spotlessly clean. Modern well furnished bedroom, comfortable bed, good tv , free working wifi, lovely modern ensuite bathroom with good hot power shower, good quality toiletries, toilet paper, towels and bed linen. Excellent cooked breakfast - 4 rashers of bacon, good local black pudding. Friendly and helpful owner. Highly recommended. I would go back any time.
I have come across few other so well appointed rooms in a B&B! The welcome was superb, and breakfast plentiful and varied. Would highly recommend to others wishing to stay in Wick, and would definitely stay again.
I stayed for 2 nights while working locally. The room and en-suite were extremely well and nicely decorated, and the bed was incredibly comfortable. Breakfast was lovely, especially the smoked salmon and local oatcakes I had one day. Elspeth was a great hostess and provided me with an iron and ironing board on request. It was a 10 minute walk into the centre of Wick, which was fine. The Clachan is definitely a great choice of place to stay.
A recent choice to stay at this B&B while visiting Wick was a great decision. This is a professional operation, beautifully fitted out with a host who has an intimate knowledge of the local area. Breakfast was delicious following a good night's sleep in a comfortable and quiet room. This is the place to stay in Wick.
We stayed one night in Wick at The Clachan Bed and Breakfast in the end of August and loved it! Elspeth is "hospitality personified". She has made her bed and breakfast a lovely experience. Not only did she tell us about restaurants in the area (we tried the Italian, one of the best we have ever had) but she recommended books and sights relevant to our interests. She is warm and thoughtful. Little things mean a lot. This was the only b and b that we went to in Scotland that served porridge and had a clock radio. I know that these things seem minimal, but when you are away from home, they are important. I also can't say enough about her breakfast and the room furnishings. I would love to have the beautiful bathroom in my home! I hope that I will be able to visit her and her home again!
Nearly two years after my first extraordinary stay with Elspeth, I can only wonder at her continuous enthusiasm and application, to keep The Clachan in Number One position, of all accommodation in Wick. Any top sportsmen, actors, singers etc - don't stay on top for very long.....but this Bed n' Breakfast just maintains the 5 Star treatment, week after week. Suffice to say, should you ever find yourself heading towards the top of Scotland - treat yourself to the hospitality of a lady who deserves all the accolades, which other Trip Advisor guests have bestowed upon her, year after year.
