“Place To Stay In Inverness”

Ardentorrie Guest House, which is situated near the Town Cenre in Inverness, Scotland.
2 Gordon Terrace.
My husband and I travelled again in Feb Mar 2013 to Inverness for the second time, we decided to find accomodation central to the town centre, this Guest House was ideal. The owner Willie Kennedy owner was unavailable when we arrived, we were welcomed by his Sister Jeanette.
She made us feel so welcome nothing was to much trouble. We had a beautiful big room overlooking a beautiful Castle. As I have a Disabillity extra pillows etc was all ready set up so I didnt have to worry. We stayed about a week., and enjoyed every minute of it. Rooms were serviced every day. Rooms were so clean and beautifully furnished, very competitive price, full breakfast included. Well worth the price.
I fully recommend this Guest House were you are made so very welcome from all Staff. We were so happy we plan to return there in Dec this year. Thankyou to you all for an outstanding Guest House.

We stayed here for two night I found the customer service very poor, when we were checking out I had to say to the manager that we were leaving, with a short gruff reply of bye, there was no did you enjoy your stay, or have a good journey home nothing, even at breakfast time there was no interaction at all,the atmosphere was terrible, would not stay here again, even for free!

Had a pleasant 5 days’ stay in Ardentorrie guesthouse with family and friends. The owners were friendly and helpful and made us feel right at home. Both ensuite rooms were spacious, clean and modern, with the one at the rear of the guesthouse having a great view over Inverness and its castle.

A hearty breakfast was served every morning and a computer with internet facilities was available 24/7 for guests’ leisure. Parking was available at the front of the guesthouse. Worth the money spent.

I highly recommend this guest house for its location near the town centre within easy reach of some great shops and pubs. It was our first stay at Ardentorrie guesthouse but we will surely visit again.

Thanks for a pleasant stay.

Room Tip: Try and book rooms at the rear end of the guesthouse for a superb view of Inverness.

Our 1-night stay was fine. The view of the castle and area was very pleasing. A few parking spaces were available. The room was modern, the décor was decidedly Scottish and we appreciated the simple furnishings that allowed more room for our luggage and desk space for use. By the lower level breakfast room there was a laptop available for checking email. Breakfast was good, and efficient. Our host provided a map and directions to several pubs and restaurants and the way into town (a 10-minute walk). We would stay again.

Me and my friend stayed for a night here in June 13.

I was assigned room 5. The room with 1 queen bed and 1 twin bed, was clean. They had very lovely bedsheets/spreads and cushions. They had all the basic amenities i.e. free wifi, 2 bottles of compli sparkling water, some cookies, electric kettle, tea and coffee and sachets of cream. There was a flat screen tv with USB that my friend could charge a mobile phone with, as there was only one other socket and if you are already using that to charge the kettle or laptop.

The bathroom was clean and towels were new. It was a standing shower cubicle and there was compli soap, no shampoo though.

It was a very comfortable sleep for me and my friend, we didn't find the mattress too thin as mentioned in one of the reviews. So i guess it is a matter of preference.

Breakfast was part of our package and upon checking in, you will be asked to fill out a form indicating what type of breakfast you want eg eggs (fried, scrambled), bacon, sausage, etc. and what time you are hoping to have breakfast. You will have to leave out the form by 3am for the breakfast next day. When we had breakfast, you just need to wait a bit as it will be prepared when you are present but in the meantime, there's cereal, fruits and milk/coffee. The small dining room had a great view of the mountains, breathtaking. Breakfast was nicely cooked and piping hot, straight from the pan, and so we have no complaints at all.

There was some complaints about hearing steps on the non-carpetted floors. I did not notice them at all, perhaps I was too tired and not too sensitive to these noises.

Only thing is that I did not notice an indoor gym, but it was only for a night that i was staying. And there's the great outdoors if anyone wants a run :)

Overall, for the price that we paid, it was a very comfortable and pleasant stay. It is really quite a lovely B&B. I would recommend it :)

In terms of location, I do not have much comments, as I was part of a tour group who came to pick us up.

We found Ardentorrie by researching guest houses on Tripadvisor. I must say that it was one of the very best places we stayed (price/quality quotient) on our 2 week trip to Scotland. The House was convenient to the train station and centrally located on the hill above town so the views are really spectacular. Our room overlooked the Castle and the River Ness. Breakfast was great. We could not have asked for a more delightful experience. Alfie, the black lab, is a gracious host, as well.
