We have just returned from a weeks sailing on the Caledonian canal, and on our last night we visited The oakwood Restaurant.
The food from the starter to the dessert was first class all eight of our party enjoyed their food.
Gus was an excellent host and really made us all very welcome and Gaby is a fantastic chef.
We will all be calling into the oakwood every time we are visiting the area in the future.
Many thanks from the Lennon party

After having a great week sailing the Loch, we moored for our last night, and looked for somewhere to have a meal. We found the Oakwood but didnt expect much really. WOW how wrong were we, the food was amazing. The Pea and Ham soup was to die for, this was followed by Braised Steak which just melted in your mouth. Other members of the party had Fish dishes which were fantastic. The Sweet menu was tantalising and did not let us down FANTASTIC. The Owner was welcoming and obliging, what a great night. We will return to Inverness just to visit the Oakwood again. Well done to you and your staff your Restaurant is a true gem.

On arrival we didn't expect great things. But what a surprise!, the interior is quite quirky . This is the local post office / gift shop as well as being a fantastic little restaurant.if you happen to be in the loch ness area it is well worth a stop. We had a late lunch, hot smoked salmon sal
ad. It was so crunchy and fresh ,the salmon was wonderfully tasty and presentation was excellent .we then tried desserts my husband had the cranacan I had the honey and whiskey brûlée ,wow! Brûlée is my favourite dessert and this was one of the best I've had.The owner has a wicked dry sense of humour very funny guy! Also a great scenic spot as the Caledonian canal is a short stroll away. A lovely experience and we would defiantly return if we pass through again.
Traditional Scottish food locally sourced.

We went here with friends during a visit to Inverness, and had an excellent dinner, everything from the starter to dessert was very good. I had one of the venissom dishes, and was really delishes. It has an authentic vibe to it, as well as tasty food for a more then reasonable price. It is an excellent choice for locals as well as visitors.

Couldn't come back to Inverness without visiting this wonderful restaurant. We first visited in March 2012 and spent 2 delightful evenings here moored up near by whilst on on our Honeymoon. The food speaks for itself, our particular favourite is the langoustine. We had just enough time to nip in for lunch before we had to fly home on Saturday. Perfect ! Thankyou, made our trip !
