Had an excellent lunch of gammon, eggs and chips. The gammon was best I've had in many a year. They had a beer on from the Cromarty Brewery called Atlantic Drift. This is a fine pint and well worth searching out. I ate in the bar which is cosy but there is an adjacent dinning room also. Staff friendly and helpful. Useful OS map on the wall. Didn't bother locking my bike.

I met friends here for lunch having visited previously and been impressed.
Whilst waiting on 2 friends I had a drink outside as it was a lovely day. The bar was busy but barmaid was helpful and polite though did get our order slightly wrong.
We were seated quickly in the restaurant, which had steady trade throughout our time there, both inside and out but not to full capacity.
We were given time to peruse menus though we had mostly chatted and asked for a few more minutes, a drink order wasn't taken (only 2 of the 4 of us had drinks). We then ordered all drinks and meals. Meals arrived and condiments asked for. After waiting we were asked by another server if we would like sauces etc and advised we had already requested. Eventually one member of the group went and asked for the condiments and the drinks were gotten by another member of the group, which was very poor in our opinion.
As previously stated the meals were fine and no complaint regarding them but service was a let down. There appeared to be numerous staff overlapping duties with no one in charge. Sadly this has put us off from returning.

The landlady of the fantastic Pitfaranne Guest House in Inverness highly recommended the Dores Inn. She was spot on!! A beautiful wee restaurant in a stunning location!! Brilliant food, excellent service and very reasonably priced!! If you're in the area, do yourself a favour and dine here!!!

After reading good reviews in Trip Advisor and Lonely Planet, went for dinner. Phoned for reservation, only 6:30 or 8:00 available. Booked for 6:30. Hmm, restaurant not even 1/2 full all the time we were there, so that was odd. Ordered a beer....either the glass was dirty or something was in the beer, don't want to think too deeply about what it was...sent the beer back. Dinner ok, but the daily special dessert ...wierd...cake with a granola type bar stuck on top and a small pitcher of cream to pour over. Off day?? new owners?? would not return.
