“This season, I will mainly be wearing - langoustines.........”
Reviewed 18 August 2014

Had half a dozen big juicy langoustines for lunch last Saturday. Sadly, ended up wearing more than I ate, as they seemed to be pinging off all over the place ! Very tasty all the same. Mate had the burger (on my recommendation), which he loved. Went for a long walk, and returned later for a lovely bowl of their crispy chips.

This place must have the friendliest, happiest staff of almost anywhere I've visited.

“Well worth a visit”
Reviewed 14 August 2014

Like the previous reviewer I found the haggis, neeps and tatties dish divine. My partner had the herring which was also excellent. There was a slight hiccup when the wine ordered by the glass was below par (to say the least) but this was replaced without fuss and reasonable promptly. The manager also visited the table briefly to apologise and the replacement wine was fine.

The following day we ate in the bar instead of the restaurant so that we felt more comfortable sharing a main course but this was no reflection on the pleasant atmosphere of the restaurant - we just felt it was fairer to free a table for more hungry diners as they appeared to be fully booked.

Booking in advance during the high season is certainly necessary (including weekdays) as they were unable to accommodate a steady stream of would-be customers who had not done so.

“Wonderfully Scottish and delicious fare!”
Reviewed 13 August 2014

A friend made reservations here when my family and I were in town visiting. We were in for quite the treat! The location on Loch Ness is simply breathtaking! On top of that, the food was tremendous! We tried the haggis neeps and tatties and theirs was excellent. I had their lamb which was also great as well. Highly recommend!

“Magical spot”
Reviewed 12 August 2014

We stopped in for a drink and a visit to the spot where you can step right up to the shore of Loch Ness, and where it (sort of) begins on the north end. There is a small beach, and it's incredibly evocative, with the waves of the famous lake lapping up at your feet. A family of ducks adds to the charm. Inside the bar is a typical pub, with cozy charm, and the restaurant was full (and people were waiting) for dinner... we were just passing through, and din't have dinner, just drinks, but found the staff super friendly and helpful. The barmaid made a great suggestion when she heard where we were headed (and she was right about her suggestion being a spectacular place)... the place is a gem, and is surrounded by beauty in every direction.
