My family spent the day with Laura on the Loch Ness—Glen Affric tour. Laura is as charming as she is knowledgeable. We had a fantastic time with her. It was a nine-hour tour that ended too quickly. We had many adventures around Loch Ness that included the museum, Urquhart Castle, Glen Affric and one of the kids falling into the stream, finches eating out of our hands, a quest for Highland coos (successful!), excellent food, and a couple of sightings of the Loch Ness monster. Even a little carsickness and a stop for a roadside potty break didn't dampen our spirits.
Two days later, Ian—in traditional Highland dress—drove us from Inverness to Edinburgh. His knowledge of Culloden is amazing. We wish we could have stayed there longer. He taught us about neolithic, bronze age, and iron age technology at a cairn. We had a delicious lunch in Pitlochry and saw the cathedral in Dunkeld.
Both trips were lively and fun. We fell in love with Scotland and can't wait to return.
