“Loch Ness—Glen Affric tour and Inverness to Edinburgh”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 July 2014

My family spent the day with Laura on the Loch Ness—Glen Affric tour. Laura is as charming as she is knowledgeable. We had a fantastic time with her. It was a nine-hour tour that ended too quickly. We had many adventures around Loch Ness that included the museum, Urquhart Castle, Glen Affric and one of the kids falling into the stream, finches eating out of our hands, a quest for Highland coos (successful!), excellent food, and a couple of sightings of the Loch Ness monster. Even a little carsickness and a stop for a roadside potty break didn't dampen our spirits.

Two days later, Ian—in traditional Highland dress—drove us from Inverness to Edinburgh. His knowledge of Culloden is amazing. We wish we could have stayed there longer. He taught us about neolithic, bronze age, and iron age technology at a cairn. We had a delicious lunch in Pitlochry and saw the cathedral in Dunkeld.

Both trips were lively and fun. We fell in love with Scotland and can't wait to return.

“Outlander Tour”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 July 2014

Laura Moon transported us back to the Stone Age and walked us through the Outlander books.
What a fun and educational day. Laura was most flexible and met all our needs and our expectations. She was very engaged and delightfully charming. All on our tour agreed that this one day was the most special one on our UK Princess Cruise ….hitting 9 ports in 12 days!
Ask for Laura !!!!

My wife and I went on three tours, one to the Isle of Skye, one to the Highland distilleries, and one to Glen Coe. Hugh Allison and John MacKellaich were both fountains of knowledge about everything from history and legend to flora and fauna to the finer points of whisky production. The tours were very adaptable and groups are small. All three included many more interesting stops and far more information than we could have managed on our own. Inverness Day Tours is hands down the best tour agency we have ever encountered.

“The Highlands : the most wonderful place in the world”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 July 2014

On June 15th Hugh pick us up from our B&B and that was the start to a most wonderful tour. Hugh is so knowledgeable about the highlands and its history, but most importantly he is enthusiastic about the highlands.
This is the second time that we have been guided by Inverness tours, the first time with George and Hugh and this time by Hugh as we took the Diana Gabaldon Outlander tour.
The tour was ours, we could request what we would like to see and Hugh made it happen, from visiting Alexander McKenzie's grave to visiting Heather a highland cow. If ever we return to Inverness we will procure the services of Inverness tours.

“Outlander Tour and WAY Behond”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 July 2014

Everyone in our party had read the books. I was not sure what to expect. Ian was GREAT. We did tour places in the book but more than that we learned so much more about the history of the area. The demonstrations Ian presented really added to the trip......simple things like starting a fire, holding a rifle, holding a sword. The highlight for me was to see my husband wrapped/kilted in the 7 yards of materials that make up a plaid. Tea was a wonderful break in the day. Thanks Ian for a great day!!!!!!

We always enjoy the feedback we receive about Ian.
He is a great tour guide ... but also so much more. The hands-on demos with which he peppers a day adds so much to the experience.
Glad you enjoyed seeing your husband dressed as an authentic historic Highlander :-)
