“Great food, good music”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 June 2014 via mobile

Went for dinner here with a friend while staying in Inverness on business. Nice pub with wooden floors and cosy private booths overlooking the river. Though it has a friendly bustling atmosphere. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of food, which isn't your typical pub grub. Modern dishes at reasonable prices but with some of the usual choices thrown in. I had the scallops with chorizo, followed by grilled salmon on crushed pesto potatoes. Both dishes were excellent. The music was great too; everything from Queens of the Stone Age to Led Zeppellin.

“Decent Pub”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 June 2014

Stopped by to have a few pints of cider. Atmosphere can be quite rowdy at times. Best seats are outside (they have around 4-6 picnic tables at the front, which have nice views of the River Ness). Price is average. Recommended.

“Good Food but really slow Bar/Waiting staff”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 June 2014

We went here on the fri night for a few drinks and were waiting ages to get served despite being at the front of the bar for a bout 15mins. The staff seemed to be either talking to each other or just really slow. We gave it another go on the sat through the day as they have a nice seating area outside and the weather was lovely. This time we ordered food. The woman that was waiting on our table was rather rude and kept forgetting everything. She took ages to bring us our drinks order then it wasn't right. Food was lovely when it arrived though.
Lovely place in a great location, food is perfect but in for a long wait!!!

“Great meal”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 June 2014

We ate early dinner here and were very impressed. I had venison(2 pieces) with celeriac and gratin potato. My wife had salmon fillet with crushed potatoes, vegetable ragout and a courgette fritter. My venison was cooked well and very tasty. The salmon fillet was cooked to perfection. For the price this was certainly a cut above pub food. Meals were very well presented. The staff were courteous. We would eat here again. Frank Sinatra singing in the background was a bonus.

“In for a wee refreshment on Saturday 31st May”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 June 2014

We were in Inverness at the weekend for a wee break, staying at the Riverside Apartments. We took my mum shopping on Saturday afternoon and decided on our way back to the apartment to go for a drink in Johnny Foxes, as my husband and I used to frequent the venue often in our younger years. We were pleased to see that the interior hadn't changed much at all and it was still a very busy, lively place with great atmosphere, friendly people willing to cater for all ages! My mum who is in her late 70's sat with her appletiser people watching for about half an hour! A very happy place to be on a sunny Saturday!! :)
