On a weekend in Inverness and called in initially just for a drink. Ended up having 3 meals over the weekend as the food was so good and the atmosphere so friendly. Would recommend highly.

Lots of locals seem to hang out at the WaterFront and when I was there it was typically quite full. Okay, let's be honest: Scotland is not known for great food. And WaterFront isn't any "world's greatest" restaurant. But compared with some of the other offerings in Inverness, it seems to offer a fairly realistic, hometown experience. I went in a couple of times for an ale and ate there once.

The food in this pub is great ! Restaurant quality, presented with real flair touches , and at a very reasonable cost. Specials are terrific.
By the river, and with road crossing ducks to observe, very pretty. Go there !

The Waterfront Pub and Restaurant was recommended to us by the proprietor of our B&B in Inverness (The Armadale B&B). It is locasted directly on the river, just a few steps down fro the old pedestrian bridge which crosses the river. Between 5 an 6 PM they serve an early bird 3 course dinner for 10 pounds. You get a salad an entree an a choioce of appetizer or dessert. My wife and I started by sharing a large portion of tempura vegetables which wee perfectly prepared, I enjoyed my entree of a braised lamb shank and my wife enjoyed her fish and chips. The fish and chips were presented tightly wrapped in butcher paper. Our dessert was a delicious apple pie accompanied by a vanillas custard sauce and peculiarly a small glass of Jello as well. Altogther well worth the 20 pounds it cost for the two dinners.

I was reading through the reviews for The Waterfront and I feel the need to point out that the pub/resturant has recently been taken over and to be honest it has gone downhill quite substantially.

The menu is still very similar but the quality has suffered (steak pie used to be the best in town but is now sadly mediocre). But the worst thing about The Waterfront are the prices. All Beers are now over £3 a pint and the food prices are in keeping with the better restuarants in Inverness... The only thing about this place that has not changed is obviously the location which is still superb

(oh and they no longer allow dogs in as food is done all day)
