We were offered this hotel on a tour package to Scotland for one night only, thus really do not have in depth knowledge of location etc however, one things which was very handy during stay was its distance to Tesco, which is hardly 5-10 minutes. Very beautiful interior and polite staff.
One thing, I hated most during stay was Wi-Fi, it is not complimentary, it should be something that hotel management should consider.

Room Tip: Almost all rooms shared by out co-travelers had a nice view.

If you want to explore the surrounding area its a great place to stay - but only if you have a car! Located across the road is a tesco supermarket (24/7), petrol station, shops, cinema, and 3 food places.

Its easy & quick to get to the city centre, aviemore and elgin!

Basic hotel, free breakfast & good base

Also theres a microwave available for use

It was handily located for my trip.

Typically HI Express - Well presented and all the staff were friendly.

There were a couple of staff members who were 'in training'. Well done and "Good Luck" to them both and thanks for your thoughtfulness.

Room Tip: Nothing to do with the hotel - The adjoining pub was not at all friendly.

To be clear, my rating of Very Good is based on my opinion of this property as compared to other budget accommodations.

After our negative experience at the Stirling HI Express, this property just seemed to sparkle.

We were on the first floor in a room with two single beds. Yes, the room is on the small side and there’s not much in the way of storage space for clothes, either by way of drawers or on hangers. There’s no closet or wardrobe, just two short bars extending from the wall with a couple of hangers on each. The beds were comfortable and were covered with a duvet. There was a choice of a firm or soft pillow, though the difference was much more subtle than those used by HI in the US.

The bathroom had only a shower stall and no tub. There was enough room around the sink to place toiletries. The soap was provided by dispensers over the sink and in the shower with the one in the shower marked “body wash and shampoo.” Bath towels and hand towels were not especially thick. I did like the door that could swing one way to shut off the entire bathroom or another way to close off the w/c leaving others access to the sink and shower. The wall between the w/c and the shower stall was mostly frosted glass that really didn’t do much to obscure those on the other side. Some will see that as a positive, while others will see it in a negative light.

The breakfast was ample and kept freshly stocked, though the property didn’t seem especially crowded.

There is a restaurant just across the parking lot called The Snow Goose. It’s nicely decorated but reservations are a must. There was a 40 minute wait each of the two nights we were in Inverness. The food is average but priced accordingly. Ours wasn’t particularly hot when we were served.

I’ve attached photos of the room.

This place does the job. Staff are fine. Rooms are OK. Perfectly acceptable hotel. Not sensational, but it isn't designed to be. The Snow Goose pub across the car-park is poor though. Give this place a miss.

Everything pretty decent except the wifi connection. Not great in public areas and pay to use in rooms. This usually doesn't bother me, but as the hotel is in a location without 3G and pretty dodgy mobile signal, it was really annoying. Other than that it was pretty much as to be expected from this hotel chain - nice, basic, decent, clean, tidy, warm - really good actually. Most staff are really friendly except the woman at check-in who was a bit stressed out - but was really nice the following day - must have been an off-day - we're allowed those I guess?!?

I stayed here for four nights on a business trip. The room was small, the bathroom even smaller. Instead of soap and shampoo in the bathroom they had a dispenser with all in one goop. The tv was small, the old box type, and a very small selection of programs. But the worst part of my stay was going down to breakfast in the morning. It was not very good. The eggs were not tasty and I couldn't even finish the sausage. As someone else mentioned in another review, there was cheese but no meat. I give this HIE an average rating.
