“It's a Holiday Inn Express”
Reviewed 12 March 2013

The room was what was expected - clean, quiet and reasonably priced. The gratis breakfast was good with hot and cold items. The GPS gave us the directions to a nearby shopping center so be sure to have correct directions beforehand.

Hotel is fine but it is falling behind other Budget Chain hotels in the area. The rooms need a upgrade .The TV in the rooms are old and very limited channels. No food in the evenings here but the Snow Goose is decent across the Car Park.Breakfast is average but comes with the Room rate.

Excellent good value hotel at this time of year, can get bit pricey in summer. Considering its next to main road it's very quiet.
Good food and value at the snow goose just a 2 minute walk from hotel.
Very clean, hospitable staff and ideal hotel.
Wish more were up to this standard

Stayed for 1 night on a business trip to Inverness and have no complaints about this hotel. The room was spotlessly clean and I slept really well. The staff on reception were very friendly and welcoming.
The location is a bit out of town if you are visiting as a tourist but a taxi to town or the station would set you back about £5. I suspect there are probably buses along the main road outside too.
Wifi in public areas is free which was good and there is a "guest services" section in reception with snacks, a microwave and crockery for guests to use. There's a big Tesco at the retail park next door so this could be handy!
We had a lovely dinner in the Snow Goose pub next door - Wednesday night is pie night :-) Word of warning though - we had to wait about 10minutes for a table (at 7pm) so if you intend to eat there it might be worth booking. I didn't expect it would be that busy midweek!
My only slight disappointment was the breakfast. The only cooked options were beans, sausages and some very strange looking scrambled eggs but there was a plentiful choice of cereals, breads, fruit, yogurt etc.

We stay here 4 or 5 times per year when visiting family in and around Inverness. We have stayed in some of the other budget hotels around the city but keep returning here. Why? In no particular order - the rooms are that bit bigger and comfy-er than the other budget hotels, bargains to be had by booking early, the breakfast buffet (inc. in the price) makes it good value for families, staff efficient and friendly, it's nice to have a lounge / bar area where we can sit with friends / family away from the room, disabled access is good - my wife walks with the aid of crutches, handy for The Snowgoose pub / restaurant ( which until recently we loved), good showers, a short walk to the shops and amenities in the retail park inc. The Vue cinema.

Downsides? It is out-of-town so a car is a must. The drinks at the hotel bar are quite pricey. (cheaper in The Snowgoose)

Returning again in a couple of months.

Stayed here one night. Staff were all very welcoming and friendly. Even our dog was made welcome! Room was clean, warm (it was -2 outside) and a good size. Breakfast was self service but good quality and relaxing, pleasant dining area is provided. Only irritation is that room prices fluctuate on a daily basis so that you can end up booking at one price and find the next day its cheaper. Evening meal is to be had at pub/restaurant across car park from the hotel and it was good value food without being pretentious. Also have Deuchars on tap - that gives it 5 stars!

stayed here while on business, wish I had opted for holiday inn last time I came to inverness as I had a much better sleep here! was met by very friendly receptionist and given a warm welcome. Close to the airport, short taxi ride which is useful if arriving late. The breakfast was good, your standard HE. Room was very clean, excellent shower. Pity the TV is so small, could do with upgrading these to flat screen. As a platinum member I have been given free water in my room and offered free room WiFi in other HE, unfortunately this was not offered here. Would recommend hotel for business travel.
