“Great hotel, great staff”

I have been lucky enough to have my faith restored in Scottish hospitality thanks to two recent fantastic experiences, one of which was here.

I had the most amazing huge room on the first floor facing to the back of the property and wonderful views of the highland countryside.

The gentleman that served me at breakfast deserves special praise for his fantastic skills as a host and the natural way he looked after all guests - bravo!

We were delighted with our stay here. It's, a beautiful and very well run establishment.

The hotel itself is very grand and it's set in a quiet and secluded area on the outskirts of Inverness and near the shores of Loch Ness. The surrounding gardens are impressive even out of season so they must be absolutely stunning in spring and summer.

The service and welcome from staff was of a high standard. Our room was very nice, clean and comfortable with amply toiletries and nice, fluffy towels.

Breakfast was very good with a nice choice available and our evening meal was also of a high quality. We were very impressed and would recommend this fine hotel to anyone staying in the Highlands who wants to be close to the city but not right in the thick of it. Only £5 for a taxi into town.

We thought it would make a lovely wedding venue as it's a really romantic style of building, both light and airy and the grounds would make a spectacular backdrop .

Highly recommended for a romantic stay in the Highlands.

Dear Audrey

Thank you for posting a review. Great to read that you enjoyed your stay and appreciate the hard work we put into maintaining our grounds. As you pointed out we are just a few minute from the city, perfect location to get the best of both worlds. We are indeed a popular wedding venue.

Look forward to seeing you again soon.

Kind Regards

Visited this hotel with friends. Lovely hotel and some of the friendliest and most helpful staff I have ever come across. We had a junior suite which was huge. We ate one night out of three as we wanted to try other places and the meal was very good. I would particularly recommend the breakfast which was excellent and the menu varied. 2 of the staff, John and Brian were particularly helpful and Brian even lent us his map although all the staff were helpful and friendly.
If I was being picky, the shower was not very good with very little power but it is a minor complaint. We got a great deal, paying for 2 nights with the third night free. All in all, the hotel is well worth a visit.

Room Tip: Choose a Junior Suite

We stayed here for a night whilst attending a wedding reception at Loch Ness and I have to say we were very impressed with the hotel, the staff and the beautiful surroundings. The hotel is just off the A82 but within minutes, once into the grounds, its an oasis of calm. We arrived rather early but the receptionist was happy for us to book in and even came out and helped us with our luggage (this was our second night away so we didn't just have overnight bags!). It was just after lunch but we were assured that whenever we wanted something to eat we could order from the bar menu which was available all afternoon. Such a change from the usual " we stop serving at 2pm" which you are often greeted with in Scotland. Our room, which was a junior suite overlooking the gardens was HUGE and very clean and comfortable with a sitting room attached. There was a TV in the bedroom and the adjoining sitting room! When we felt hungry enough to have something to eat we made our way along to the lounge (there isn't a bar) and ordered tea and sandwiches with a lovely view overlooking the beautiful gardens. Sandwiches arrived very soon after, freshly made and very tasty. Tea was hot and fresh too.
In the morning breakfast was served in one of the small dining areas and again was beautifully cooked, fresh and hot. The poached eggs I ordered were a LOT better than the ones I had eaten in a hotel near Pitlochry the previous morning! I cannot fault this hotel and if it wasn't so near home I might return to stay. They have 2 AA Rosettes for food and if their dinners are as good as the other food we tried then I would be very happy. I would imagine this hotel would be excellent for a summer wedding as the grounds are just perfect and its very close to Inverness. They also have self catering cottages in the extensive grounds.

A beautiful hotel in lovely grounds, peaceful and with warm, welcoming staff, this hotel comes highly recommended. We stayed with our 6 month old and she had as much special treatment as we did with her own mini room off ours with cot and baby sheets. The room was large, warm and inviting. Staff were brilliant, friendly and helpful. Breakfast was delicious with a great selection. Definitely recommend staying here! Peaceful, restful and contented!

Booked a late deal on Laterooms for £80 with 2days notice for a birthday treat. Arrival and greeting was great. Escorted to room. Superb room - Wyvis which overlooked gardens and out towards Inverness. This is the room pictured on website. Dinner was of very good quality but restaurant has no ambience which was disappointing. Evening sleep was really enjoyable with high comfort in bed and pillows. Breakfast was another good quality meal. My only two criticisms are minor. The hotel and rooms were cold for time of year. The change of hotel name from its previous of Dunain Park to Loch Ness is a mistake and injustice to the gorgeous country house. Would I go back - For £80 probably the best value in Inverness by a mile

We had a really good three night stay last week. We found the young staff extremely professional and friendly and could not fault them in any way. From checking in to checking out, John, Martin, Sam and Kirsteen could not do enough for us. The service in the lounge, at breakfast and during dinner is impeccable.

Our room overlooked the front of the hotel. The bed was very comfortable indeed but unfortunatley the temperature in the room was quite cold. The heating in both the bedroom and en-suite was barely warm. The lounge areas are lovely, the log fires were lit and it was warm and welcoming.

The breakfasts were exceptional, plenty of choice to suit everyone, dinner was also very good.

Special thanks to all the staff, keep up the good work, you are a credit to the company.
