Revisited for first time since ownership changed hands, the hotel has been upgraded a bit with a new function are and bar terrace area, but could also stand a little more refurb in some areas. Our room (wyvis) was a good size with king bed and dining table and decent bathroom size. However the bed was rather squeaky - annoying when you rolled over.
Food was very good at dinner and breakfast, with great choice of quality items. Enjoyed my stay but I thunk rooms in the old section could be spruced up a bit to match overall property quality.

Room Tip: Best rooms are in the newer extension area.

We stayed in the honeymoon suite for two nights, and could not have been happier. The rooms are huge and well furnished, the staff was incredibly attentive and professional, and the food was fantastic. The only slight hit against that I saw agrees with an earlier review that the bathrooms are showing a little wear and age, but are still very clean and functional. Take a walk around their gardens with a glass of wine when the weather is nice.
Definitely worth the splurge!

We were here for a wedding reception and the staff could not have been more helpful, engaging or polite. We stayed overnight and the room was spotless, very tastefully decorated and was quite simply huge! The only very small cross in the box was the bathroom was starting to look dated and the over bath shower was weak. Several of the marble tiles are cracked and the hot tap didn't work on the sink. We got a late deal through Late Rooms and the suite was very welcoming after a long night dancing. The bed was very comfortable and the breakfast the following morning was fantastic. A huge array of buffet items and a full traditional Scottish hot breakfast with lovely coffee.

Room Tip: Suites are huge with their own sitting rooms, almost too big for an overnight stay, but very little...

They made us feel very welcome and handled a mistake from the booking provider in a very professional manner, upgrading our room and handling all of the issues. Breakfast was also excellent and we found the service to be friendly, accommodating and classy.

We found it to be a very comfortable stay and I look forward to visiting again.

One reason we booked this hotel was for the free WiFi in the guest rooms. Only part of the hotel had this option and we were not given rooms in that area. We were told the lounge had WiFi, but when we need to contact clients and work with confidential information, that wasn't an option. In addition, the rooms were extremely warm as there isn't any air conditioning and the windows only open slightly. My colleague also waited exceedingly long for his morning cup of coffee.

Room Tip: Get a room somewhere else!

Stayed one night before heading north to Orkney. Completely satisfied with service provided by hotel staff without exception. The hotel is set in the most beautiful grounds on the outskirts of Inverness. Shall certainly return if the opportunity arises.
