“This hotel made our holiday!!!!!”
Reviewed 20 October 2009

We stayed here for three nights on our first visit to the highlands, we throughly enjoyed staying in this hotel. The service was exceptional, the staff were very friendly and relaxed whilst maintaining a very high standard. The atmosphere around the hotel was also relaxed and friendly. The little touches really made a difference. Everything about this hotel says quality from the drive into the grounds to the tasteful decor! We will definitely return!

I stayed here for two nights, unexpectedly, and had the most wonderful experience. Compared to 5 star hotels in Edinburgh, Paris, D.C., New York etc where I've stayed on business, Dunain had everything I needed - and more! A revelation of stunning views, dense and aged gardens, old stone, beautiful tapestries and paintings, superb beds/sheets, classy bathrooms and the most wonderful attention to detail. Each room is named after a highland mountain range, loch or river, and it was music to the ears to talk with the hotel staff. Helpful, cheerful, accommodating, humorous, they seemed to be able to do anything on impossibly short notice. Why need a concierge when a member of the kitchen staff you happen to bump into regales you with wickedly funny and absolutely accurate recommendations for places to eat or drink in Inverness. And who then conducts a friendly interrogation as to one's thoughts on the last night's sauce on the aberdeen angus steak, the fresh caught trout, the black pudding, the sauvignon blanc, all with the assurance and intelligence of a top maitre d or sommelier ----and to find out that's one of the kitchen cleaners! This hotel is one of the best experiences I have ever had, full stop, and they deserve every one of those five stars. What a revelation of skills, talent and true hospitality. No airs, no graces, no servility, just the Scots at their very best. You know you can be nowhere else except the highlands of Scotland, but this is no tacky Brigadoon - it's the age old tradition of welcome. I must return!

The hotel is situated in a lovely location, since it is immersed in greenery as it is surrounded with acres of landcaped garden. My small kids had ample room to run around. It is a very clean hotel, staff and food are superb. It is also enlisted in Michelin Guide 2009. The only downfall was that the hotel does no have a lift, although we were offered help with the luggages.

We stayed overnight at the Dunain Park Hotel during August of 2009. The service was exemplary in every aspect. The rooms were clean and airy, the grounds superb, food excellent - but it was the service and attentiveness that made the difference. From the moment we arrived, nothing was too much trouble.
I would recommend this hotel whole heartedly.
Although we and the Sat Nav did struggle to find it

Right from the moment we drove up we were impressed. We booked to stay one night meeting my parents for a family dinner .. The room is very pleasantly decorated with lovely views of the grounds. The hotel is 2 miles outside Inverness but worth it as its so quiet and feels like you are staying in a stately home. From the hotel you can take a lovely walk down to the canal and then back for a glass of wine on the deck. Dinner was fantastic with a menu of good locally sourced food. There is no bar but a really lovely lounge to relax in. Breakfast is good too as you get a choice which is cooked to order rather than buffet style which has become so common in the larger chain hotels. Really worth a visit for a short stay - it is quite pricey though!
Also handy for taking a boat tour of near by Loch Ness.
Enjoy!

We stayed at the hotel while visiting Scotland last month. We spent 3 nights at Dunain. It is a truly a hidden treasure. We stayed in the Junior suite Macdui overlooking the garden. It was a fantastic experience. The room was very clean, bathroom spacious with nice toiletries, very friendly and hospitable staff ever so courteous. The location is perfect about 10 minutes from Loch Ness and the city centre as well. They served very nice breakfast in an amazing ambience. You do need a car as it is a bit away from the city but if you are willing to pay for the taxi it's perfect too. It's not too expensive to get into the city centre in a taxi as we did so in the evenings. All in all, an incredible experience and would love to go there again and recommend it to everyone especially honeymoon couples, it's spendid!

This is a really excellent hotel, we stayed in the Honeymoon Room which was lovely, really beautifully decorated, nice and big with views over the gardens. The terrace is lovely for pre dinner drinks and the food was excellent - service first class. All in all a real luxury experience.
