This is our second time staying here and both times have occupied a Townhouse room facing the river. The view is lovely and rooms are individual and decorated to a high standard. On this occasion we were B&B only and breakfast as before was great and choices good. The bar is comfortable and relaxing. The hotel is ideally located, a few minutes walk along the riverside and you are in the town centre. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: if you don't mind going outside ask for a Townhouse room (next door) overlooking the river

We found this place through TA and then looked at room rates through Trivago etc. We then phoned the hotel and were able to negotiate a better rate, including breakfast and with a guaranteed river view room. Staff were friendly and the breakfast was fab. My fiance tried the kipper one morning and the haddock the other. She loved both. Definitely worth trying.

Lovely spacious room (paid 80 quid for a superior room through Late Rooms), very clean, huge bed, overlooking the river. Room service was fast and food was tasty. Parking available at the rear of the hotel. Staff very helpful and friendly, would stay again.

Room in an annexe next door to main hotel, it and the ensuite were clean and adequate. The mattress felt well used; it's time for a replacement. The annexe is used by a variety of organisations; it is not very peaceful. The window is not double-glazed and we were disturbed to a loud dawn chorus of a large number of seagulls. The wifi that was advertised did not exist in the annexe.

If you like all your savoury food well pre-salted and sitting in oily concoctions, the restaurant facilities will suit, if not, it is strongly recommended you eat elsewhere. The dessert was microwave heated making a fruit crumble soggy. The custard was served in a small jug, a nice touch, and it was nicely prepared. Restaurant and hotel services would benefit from customer services development and training.

There is no shortage of alternative eating choices close by and in the town centre, about 5 minutes walk away.

Room Tip: If you do decide to use this hotel, first check where your room will be situated, i.e. the main hot...

We held a conference at the Waterside Hotel and it was a very good venue. The conference rooms were large, bright and airy and the IT equipment worked very well. The catering was good, particularly the evening conference dinner, which was excellent and the dinner tables were also set out wonderfully.

The staff were efficient, friendly and professional and made every effort towards helping us provide a successful event.

The room I stayed in was very nice. It was large and comfortable and had a lovely view of the river.

I also liked the fact that the hotel facilities are used by local groups - a great venue for visitors and locals alike.

I stayed at the Waterside for a conference; I attend a fair number of conferences and wish they could always be held as somewhere as good as here.

Room - warm, spacious with a super comfy bed and very clean.

Food - really special. Fresh and very tasty.

Staff - very friendly and helpful. Always calm, nothing was too much trouble, and all of them seemed really happy and proud to be working there.

Conference facilities - 50 people there and everyone could see & hear everything. Seats comfy. Coffee, tea & cakes at break time on time and very good.

I'll be back!

Room Tip: My room overlooked the river, which was lovely. Very quiet street.
