“Nice place, not far from High Street”
Reviewed 21 August 2014

Westbourne Guest House is within walking distance of the High Street and a convenient place to stay. The rooms were clean and the size ok, bathroom as well, breakfast was good, friendly and helpful hosts.
We enjoyed the free night cap of Port or Sherry. A place to remember for the next visit.

Room Tip: If you have a light sleep the seagulls may be a problem.

The hosts made us very welcome. There were complimentary cakes and a glass of port in the evening. The room was very comfortable and the breakfast very good, with lovely fresh fruit salad and a delicious cooked option.

Room Tip: We had the Stewart Room, with excellent views across the river.

Richard and Nan both greeted us when we arrived and Richard insisted on carrying our luggage to our room which was appreciated. The comfortable ensuite room was very well equiped with everything you would need for a comfortable stay and the wifi works well. However it's the warm welcome from Nan and Richard that sets this place apart from the rest. Nan provides home baked goodies that you can help yourself to from the residents lounge and she will do a load of washing if you need for a reasonable fee. Both she and Richard provide a great breakfast with plenty of variety. They even have Vegemite for Australian guests to feel at home. This is a B & B to feel at home in and you will defiantly want to return when you can. Thank you Richard and Nan.

The owners Nan and Richard are so lovely. The house is equipped with everything you could ask for, no with much more... e.g. the best homemade cookies and portwine for guest's free pleasure. Thank you Nan, we forgot to mention it. The location is perfect at the river, right beside the footbridge. The views from the rooms are not the big highlight (you will see the wall of the church nextdoor), therefor it is quiet so that you can enjoy the seagulls "chatting" ; ). Whenever we come to Inverness again, we definitively will stay in Westbourne guesthouse again.

Room Tip: The Ross room we had is right above the kitchenventilation that was only on before meals, so no big...

I have stayed at Westbourne a number of times and can confidently say that you will not find a better B&B in Inverness - and possibly not anywhere else in Scotland. The facilities are nothing short of excellent and the overall experience is one to be thoroughly enjoyed. Well-run, fairly-priced, with thoughtful and caring hosts. If you go, you'll go back!

Stayed one night as it was very handy for Eden Court Theatre. Was made to feel really welcome and was pleased that there was everything you needed to hand, hairdryer, iron, fridge etc the owners really have thought of everything. Fridge was stocked with bottled water and fresh milk which was a lovely touch, although I would have preferred it if the milk had been unopened as I was a bit wary using the previous occupiers leftovers. Stayed in the Davidson room which was spacious although the single bed was really quite hard and I had a great deal of difficulty flushing the toilet, which with hindsight I should have mentioned to the owners. Cutlery and crockery are of a high standard, no leaky teapots here! Breakfast was lovely, high quality produce cooked very well, although a larger plate would have made it easier to eat from. Overall a really nice place to stay marred only by a few niggles.

We stayed here in June (2 adults and 2 teens) in the family room, it is small but very cozy it has anything you may think you will need. The room is full of small details and perfectly clean. My daughters enjoyed the movie selection. It has an unbeatable location, from the room you can see the river and you can walk to the town in no time. Hosts are very warm and helpful, you feel welcomed the minute you get in. Parking is not a problem just in front of the place. Sadly we only stay here 1 night, it is a great place! Would stay again, no doubt.
