“Short stay”
Reviewed 16 April 2012

A great location in the centre of Inverness. Nice room, everything we needed for a short break. Nice breakfast - eat as much as you like. Didn`t have time to use the spa. Bar OK; shame it had too many TV screens showing footie. As an addition - cakes available for afternoon tea time - only hot drinks available. We went to the cafe opposite. Nice staff on reception.

this hotel is very dated, the staff are nice and try their best.
I had real problems with internet connections and it took a couple of hours to sort, I had to pay for it, the wifi in reception is free but that kept disconnecting , I had to get important emails out and the service of this was way below average.
The noise from the street below all through the night was really bad, drunk people arguing and fighting it went on till about 4.00 am, the windows dont seem to keep the noise out, the breafast was ample but my poached eggs were raw

We booked a Junior Suite for the weekend because there was a deal for 3 nights for 2 and a discount on Expedia on top of this. If it had not been for this fact then I would have felt ripped off.

First the good things:
- Excellent location (easily accessible and close to the railway station)
- Clean
- Tea, coffee and water in rooms
- Nice view of the river
- Friendly staff

And the not so good:
- Uncomfortable bed (very soft)
- Very limited tv channels (only freeview and not even all of them which was a pain as we wanted to watch the masters late at night)
- Terrible internet access (you have to have a laptop as it's not wifi in the rooms)
- Shower either very hot or very cold (very difficult to get a good temperature)
- No cupboard space to unpack
- Very noisy (both from the other guests and outside)

Because we had a suite the internet access free but so slow that it was unusuable. We also had free access to movies (but didn't really spend that much time in the room to use it). Otherwise you would have to pay for both of these.

This hotel is well located, and parking is available. The food was ok, and the staff were generally pleasant. The barman seemed a nice fellow, and while willing to turn the football down was quite reluctant to do so. Hotel staff need to learn that the entertainment is for the guests, not for them. Now for the bedroom. It was quite small, and the window would not open!
The bathroom door would not close - there are some things which should not be shared. There seemed to be no soundproofing and it was possible to hear sounds from the next room, not all of them pleasant. The hotel is modern enough in structure to do some soundproofing. All in all a disappointing visit. I would not stay again, and would not recommend the hotel to others.

Arrived late at night due to delayed trains, and was glad it was just a short walk from the station. Check in was very efficient and I quickly got to my room.
Very smart modern and well equipped room and comfy bed.
Had a view over a flat roof to the river and the hills. Bit of background noise due to extractor fans, but nothing that disturbed my sleep.
The buffet breakfast was delicious and plentiful, an amazing choice to help yourself to. The chef was constantly checking the availability of the hot food and replenishing what was running low. Lots of cereal, fruit, yoghurt, toast and bakery items too.
Lovely location for the dining room overlooking over the river.
A good choice of hotel when staying in Inverness.
