“A Must-Stay Place!”
Reviewed 10 October 2011

We spent two lovely nights at this hotel, our favorite place on our UK trip. Had a splendid suite in the new garden building---a very large, clean room with sitting area, large bathroom, and a patio with table and chairs that overlooked the beautiful garden and lawn area. The reception and restaurant staff were both very helpful, attentive, and friendly. The restaurant has large windows that overlook the pretty garden area. The breakfast buffet had many delicious offerings and the dinner menu offered some of the best food we had on our trip. There is a roomy bar with comfortable furniture adjoining the restaurant, which is a nice place to cap off an evening. This hotel is located a few miles from the central part of town, but this was not a problem for us as we toured nearby areas that were outside of Inverness. The parking was plentiful, which was important to us as we were on a driving tour. We are looking for "excuses" to go back to this part of gorgeous Scotland so that we can stay at this incredible hotel again.

Hotel outside of town but very easy to get to sights around Inverness. Stayed in the new wing with a large room and hugh bathroom with large shower. We backed to the gardens and was a very quiet room. Hotel had a large bar area and atrium which served a great breakfast with alot to choose from..Had dinner both nights of our stay and had delicious meals. Stayed sept19 and20, 2011.
Staff friendly and helpful. Highly recommend this hotel to anyone. Note: No Air Conditioning in the rooms, not necessary during our stay due to cool weather.

It is the perceptive and friendly service that makes it worthwhile staying in this hotel. The staff are social at just the right level and they go to length to make you feel at home. They are always willing to help you be it with taxis, some customization to the food, or even arranging for a b'day cake (as they did for us).

Location-wise, the hotel is a bit off the river and you wont get the river view. However, the hotel has a beautiful garden with flowery trees and in general you will feel good staying here.

We had one room on the first floor and one in the new wing. The new wing apparently has larger rooms and these overlook the garden. Our room was very spacious with a large bathroom and we had a great time.

Breakfast was limited in options, particularly for Indians/South Asians who avoid beef/meat but again, the staff was eager to help with omlettes, etc. Overall the food was good.
This hotel is a place you would definitely come back to and recommend to your friends for the hospitality, comfort and the overall feel good factor.

Room Tip: Opt for the new wing, but at a higher rate :)

Stayed here 24/9/11 were in room 35 in the extension of the original building room was ver spacious clean and lies the fact it had a fridge and complimentary water, all hotel should provide this especially for the morning after! Breakfast was excellent, Stornaway black pudding says it all! Staff were very friendly and attentive. Only issue was the use of bleach on toilet bowls, not only was it used it was left on the bowls, if the staff insist on using it at least brush and flush! Not only is it a lazy way of giving a bowl a clean appearance it also is very dangerous, young kids may put there fingers onto it or another substance may go down the toilet causing a chemical reaction. Accident waiting to happen!! Overall good stay.

Stayed for 2 nights. We have stayed in a few Best Westerns and this is the best to date. Our room (in the new wing) was excellent very clean, spacious and over looked the garden. The staff were extremely attentive and very friendly. Breakfast was the usual help yourself buffet. We had one evening meal and it was lovely. We were on a tight itinerary in Inverness and weren't sure we were going to have time to visit an aunt, somehow they managed to have her sat in the breakfast room when we got up (how did they do that? - what service).
We stayed here as the New Drumossie Hotel bumped us out due to overbooking and we were very glad they did. Thank you Drumossie.

A little bit further than the river than I realized but was very charming, clean, and had large rooms & bathrooms I dont think we would have found in the hotels down the road. Also had good sized, free parking lot, big plus not having to think twice about it.

I stayed at Lochardil House for two nights in November 2010. I was very late getting there, the first night, but the kitchen was still willing to serve me something hot -- the venison pie was out of this world. I had a room in the Annex, which was very quiet while I was there, and the room was quite nice. The bathroom was huge and luxe. The front desk was always happy to call a taxi for me and give me information on getting to places. If I go back to Inverness, I'm definitely staying here again!
