“One of the better hotels in Inverness”
Reviewed 1 December 2012

Have stayed here many times on business. The hotel is very conveniently located (10 / 15 mins walk from town and five minutes from the A9, with easy parking). The hotel has a newer block where the spa is located. The rooms here are all 'demi suites' and are particularly nice (very modern, good size etc) - but try and get one on the ground or first floor as the top floor ones don't have a balcony. Rooms in the main section of the hotel are not quite as modern but are still of a good standard. Best rooms are those facing the internal courtyard, which have patio doors leading out on to a little terrace.

Food is excellent and service up to the standard you would expect from a decent four star.

Would also recommend for business - the conference facilities are very good.

Room Tip: Rooms in the spa block are excellent - modern, and a good size with a separate sitting area - but ar...

Dear Guest,

Thank you for taking the time and effort to review the hotel. I believe your view to be very balanced and honest. You are right room in our Kingsclub are the best quality, and yes the do cost a little more however when you are staying away and want the quality it is worth it. The bedrooms with the balconies / private gardens are call "Retreat" rooms. The other rooms in the Kingsclub are of the same standard however do not have the balcony / private garden, these are called "Cacoon" rooms and are slightly cheaper.

Thanks again and I look forward to welcoming you back to Kingsmills and Kingsclub and Spa.

Kind Regards

Stayed here on business, check in was slow - girl was a trainee and became a bit flustered, kept on apologising. Got to my room, room 6 single glazed window less the 4ft from the extractor fan above the kitchen. Called down to reception and they said it would be on until 10pm when the kitchen shut. Was moved rooms quickly , even up graded which was nice. Bed was very comfortable. Service in the bar was great really friendly guy. Ordered room service - was supposed to be steak on ciabatta, it was more like stir fried stew on soggy bread. Don't understand why the room had an ice bucket in it, no ice machine and when I called reception for some ice to be delivered with my room service tray it didn't arrive.

I am aware this has been happening within the last week and I will address with our Front Office Manager as a priority tonight. I do appreciate your praise for the bar associate who looked after you and I will discuss your feedback with chef also.

I trawled the net and this hitel came in cheaper than the premium inb!!!! And it is a genuine 4 star in a good location, I have no fault with this place, I can't figure why they charge for wifi as I can get 3f on my iPhone, I could not run a tab without a credit card, SL was discouraged from eating and drinking in most relaxing and plush surroundings

Dear Guest,

Thank you for your feedback and taking time to complete the review online. Yes this is a four star quality hotel and at this time off year we do offer some fantastic deals, which are great value for money. Up-gradeing at this time of year can also be better value for money and the best rooms - Kingsclub are just so comfortable.

We do offer free wifi in the bar and reception lounges, the kiosk and in the business centre. There are small charges for usage within bedrooms.

There are two restaurants and food also available in the lounge bar and via room service.

Lots of options and facilities including pool and leisure centre.

Haste ye back!

Kind Regards

Stayed here with coach party. Found rooms lovely, staff very friendly and food good even though restricted to fixed menu. Situation about 20mins pleasant walk from centre of Inverness. Stayed in standard twin room - plenty of space - bathroom had proper separate shower as well as bath.
Quite an unusual route to room. Puzzled by signs directing to a room no. 12 which we never found (& staff did not know if it existed) but we enjoyed our stay and would go again.

Room Tip: Ask for a garden view room with terrace.

Dear Guest,

Thank you for taking time to write your review. I am glad you enjoyed your stay, found the room comfortable and clean, enjoyed the food quality and would return again. Your room must have been in the original house dating back to the 1700's. It was since converted to a hotel and a few years ago we converted two room into one in some areas to provide large rooms with good ensuites in all rooms with separate show cabinet and bath.

Look forward to seeing you back at Kingsmills.

Kind Regards

The hotel was certainly adequate for our family trip through Scotland. The fitness center and pool were very good and the room was fine. The hotel just seemed a little too corporate and lacked any sort of distinguishing character. Breakfast was not very good as the buffet seemed to have been left out too long. Very central to Inverness Castle.

Dear Guest LAS2012910,

Thank you for taking time to write your review on trip advisor. I am glad to read that you found the hotel comfortable and the family enjoyed your recent stay at the hotel in particular making use of the leisure club facilities. I do not believe that we are not a corporate hotel, having managed four large corporate hotels in the past. There are not many "corporate hotels" that can claim Robbie Burns to have eaten in their private dinning rooms and have a thank you letter to display to this affect, as Kingsmills does. I apologise you were disappointed with breakfast, I will be addressing this with our executive chef as a matter of urgency.

I would love for you to return to Kingsmills hotel in the future.

Kind Regards
