Stayed here while doing a tour with Insight/Trafalgar in October 2013.

The tour company selected this hotel and only stayed here one night.

Front desk staff were great and very helpful.

Room was a decent size, room for all of our luggage, nice and cozy with an awesome and super comfortable king bed.
I had a great sleep in this bed! Very comfortable after a long day on the road.
Washroom was nice an spacious, shower was great, good water pressure but funny trying to figure out how to use it. A little dated, but worked great none the less.

We arrived at the hotel around 5pm, checked in, relaxed, had dinner with the tour group and then a couple of drink at the bar, so not sure what is around the hotel, but it looked like there were a couple of pubs in the area.

We had a great stay and would stay here again.
Clean, comfortable, nice room, and had a great stop over!

The Kings Club rooms are located in a purpose-built building across from the original hotel. The rooms are sumptiously appointed. Large very clean and tidy. As is the bathroom. The staff are very helpful and friendly. Only had breakfast which was very well presented and cooked. With a good choice to order from.

We stayed in the Kings Club as part of an Adventures by Disney trip in August and it was amazing. I've been meaning to post a review and am finally getting around to doing so. The rooms we had were awesome. The food was superb, who knew a bunch of Yanks from Michigan would enjoy hagus so much? The staff were extremely nice and friendly, as well as helpful. We had hoped for a traditional Sunday roast and they made us the meal even though it wasn't on the menu, and they also arranged for a family on the tour to play a round of golf. I can't say enough good things about the hotel. I would strongly recommend it and hope to return.

Booked the 4 night Hogmanay package for our family together with another family who had stayed at the hotel on several occasions.

Arrived at the hotel on 29th December where we were warmly greeted and helped with our luggage to our spacious family room. Kids were delighted with the bunk beds and a separate room!!! In main room a Gigantic bed that makes for a truly blissful sleep. Room cleaned to a high standard daily and great powerful shower.

I could write an essay on how good this hotel is and what a fantastic stay we had but will sum it up in a few very well deserved points!!!

• Staff are genuinely cheerful and friendly in all areas of the hotel. General Manager Craig clearly loves his job and appreciates his excellent employees. It's no surprise that he welcomes back the same families and groups of friends for 15 years or more in a row! Alicia was great with our children and the charming Bob gave our kids the delight of starring in his pantomime which they adored.

• Food - where do I start!! Let's just say you won't go hungry here!! Delicious breakfasts, coffee and cakes, posh afternoon tea, luxury banquet and four course dinners - all worthy of five star rating. The watercress soup and Thai crab fish cakes were simply sublime!

Activities - action packed with more than a few well thought out special touches for adults and children. The right balance of fun, competition and trips to panto and bowling.

A rather stunning extension is in it's final stages of construction so this will only add to the appeal of this fantastic venue.

All in all we even looked in to extending our stay an extra night which reception staff and manager helped us kindly with but work commitments meant we had to go home as originally planned.

Will definitely go back!!!!!
Highly recommend!!

Stayed here on 27th December. We were given a complimentary upgrade to the kings club annexe which was excellent and very comfortable. Large, clean room with good facilities and a lovely breakfast served by friendly staff.
We ate in the main hotel and the meal was very good value. Better still, having an after dinner coffee in the homely and well appointed lounge whilst listening to the hotel pianist was a fine end to our evening.

Room Tip: Using the hotel's own booking site will get you extra benefits that are worth having

We went for dinner to this hotel on Christmas Eve with friends. This is a four star hotel so we expected things to be really lovely. Unfortuntely they were not. We were shown quickly to our table and were given the menus and than had to wait for at least fifteen minutes before anyone came to take our order having omitted to take any drinks order which we had to ask for. The restaurant was not busy and there seemed to be enough staff but they were rather ineffcient There was another long wait for the staff to take our food order. The food when it eventually arrived was mediocre to say the least. I would have expected far better qualify of food from a hotel of this calibre. During the meal my husband realised that the air conditioning unit under which he was sitting was dripping water on him! When we told the staff they moved the table out of the way of the unit but made no apologies, did not offer him any napkin to dry his jacket or even a complimentary coffee. In all we were very disapointed with what we were hoping would be a special meal out.

Stayed at the Kings Club part of the hotel from 24th December until Boxing Day. The rooms were excellent with huge beds and very spacious accommodation.
We had breakfast in the Kings Club and dined in the main part of the hotel (which included our Christmas Lunch) . The meals were excellent and the staff were first class. I was with a family party of nine and we all thought the hotel was great. I would definitely recommend this hotel

Room Tip: The Kings Club rooms are great.
