We were fortunate to get a nice room in the new section and we were told by some in our group who were in the old section that it was not so good. Our room was nice and the hotel has a certain charm with it's great location. Dinner was good but breakfast was a let down. Had to ask for eggs and coffee. Some people in our group did not get wake up calls that they had ordered. I asked for a cold beer at the bar and was given a hot one. For my next beer I explained to the barman that I don't like warm beer and I would like a very cold beer that is stored in the fridge and he told me he had a cold beer on tap. So I get one of them and it's warm beer. Some people like warm beer but I don't, particularly when I ask for very cold beer. All in all, it was okay.

Room Tip: Ask for a room in the new section.

Disappointing meal. Had to return steaks which were cold. Hotel is overpriced and isn't as good as it thinks it is. To charge 175 for a room and extra for wifi is shocking in this day and age. Decided to eat elsewhere for the second night. Would I stay again? Probably not. Other places do it better.

Stayed in this hotel with a group of friends and family for my fiancés birthday. The rooms were all really nice and spacious and the hotel itself is lovely. The walk into the centre takes roughly 10-15 minutes and is a nice walk. We had a birthday dinner in the restaurant - we went down and decorated the table and they gave us a small separate table for the birthday cake we had brought with us. The food was really good, there was a really nice atmosphere and the service was great. Will definitely go back to this hotel again.

After relaxing on a sunny patio in their very attractive grounds and a comfortable nights sleep in the smart new wing, breakfast was disappointing. A freshly prepared cooked selection served at your table is far preferable to the self service 'all you can eat' style, greasy, messy buffet. A huddle developed as guests awaited plates from the kitchen. Another point to note, it would be refreshing if bottled mineral water was available in the bedroom rather than drinking water from a mixer tap in the bathroom. Staff were lovely and location ideal for city break, function or tourists exploring the Highlands.

Room Tip: Smart, comfortable room in the new wing.

Just spent two nights at the Kingsmill Hotel in Inverness. The staff were absolutely amazing in that they were so helpful with all of our questions. If you're looking for a hotel that's within a short walk (10 minutes) from city center, you'll like Kingsmill. The only negative was that they charge for Wi fi in your room, but it's free in the common areas....

My partner paid £300 for a two night stay with breakfast for a birthday surprise for me. Very disappointed as I thought it was going to be upmarket , we arrived to find the room very tired looking , the huge bed we were supposed to have was actually 2 beds pushed together disguised with a quilt over them. The evening meal was over priced for what we got and a portion of veg was extra !! Breakfast was buffet , which is odd giving the status of the hotel..
We had to cut our stay short due to a family bereavement and the hotel only returned £130 to our card. Needless to say wont be staying here again , rather slum it at budget hotels !!!

Stayed here for four days and it was lovely. The breakfast was great, staff were lovely and great live music. There is a spa and it was lovely to relax in after a day dolphin watching. This is a lovely hotel with very pretty grounds
