We stayed recently at this hotel for one night. On arrival the little "gentleman" at reception added £50 onto my card without a word. Other hotels will give you the option of whether you wish to pay for extras at the time or ask how much you wish to add onto your card. We stayed in the annex. The room was beautiful and could not be faulted. However, the balcony had not been cleaned for quite a while. The table had glass marks, the glass was filthy, the stones were full of cobwebs and cigarette ash.
We ate at the Inglis restaurant - set menu. The starter was a bunch of lettuce leaves, a blob of beetroot and some walnuts thrown on top! Where is the chef's imagination? Main of fish was good but tiny, dessert was ok. Breakfast was good but overall a disappointing stay. The little "gentleman" did let me view my bill before asking me to pay and did not ask me whether we enjoyed our stay.
